Class A Motor Home that we recently purchased. The Toilet is on the opposite side of the sewer drain. We have a few issues.1. The gauge always reads 2/3 full even right after we drain it. Can it be the sensor? If so, what can be done to fix it?2. The toilet clogs easily. I have put on long gloves and used the toilet brush, going up to my elbow to push down. I can feel and hear it release. Even using bio-degradable toilet paper does not solve the problem. We have tried two different kinds of pods to clean motor home sewer holding tanks and it has not helped.Any experience with these issues?Any solutions you can think of for these issues.

I am not sure what you mean by "other side of the drain"As far as the gauge goes.... I have had the same issue with the black tank gauge in every RV I have owned over the last 30years.Calgon water softener helps. I put about 8 of in my tank and fill 3/4 full of water. Then drive around for a bit then dump. I have also let the Calgon sit in the tank overnight before dumping. Not sure that it made much difference. Google "black tank Calgon" and you will find a good bit of information.

My toilet is also on the opposite side. My holding tank is only a few inches in depth but stretches across the whole width of RV. Can you see down the toilet directly into tank? What do you mean you can hear it release? What is releasing? Also where is the clog...down the toilet pipe or actually in the black tank so that it's not draining?My motorhome sensors and most motorhome sensors do not consistently work. I've used Happy Camper and toilet wand with some success. But after a couple camping trips, the sensors go back to not working. You'll just have to figure out as you go along how many days you can camp until the tanks are full.The clog is the bigger issue. I assume this is a used MH. Maybe there is a dreaded pyramid of poo down there.

We have been doing this for a long time and stopped having problems the first season when we learned .... MORE WATER.... If you think you are using too much use more.The other rules apply like poop, pee, toilet paper and water, nothing else!Newer RVs have sensors outside the tank and do not get covered with stuff like the older prob that stick into the tank.Use more water!!!!

Some things By "Other side from drain" Drain is normally on Driver's side of RV. Toilet in this case is on Curb side. That's simple

Sensor shows 2/3 full.. Working or rather not working as designed the sensors are .. Well let's just say the black tank is where they belong. Mine are like that too it is next to impossible to get 'em to work properly

Two suggestions one of which I hope to try some day

1: Horst Miracle probes.. They CLAIM they will work I've read good reports but have yet to try

1: See Level. Again I've not used it but since the technology is different it WILL work.

I had to buy one of these while wintering in Yuma our first year, I made the mistake of leaving the area before the black tank was done draining and I forgot to close the valve so I had a lot of blockage to clear out and this tool did the trick. I never leave home now without it. if you have a build up and it is causing blockage use the tool and really clean out the black tank

Sounds like you're not using enough water when flushing. Try this.
If going poo fill the bowl, go poo and flush. Then partially fill the bowl, wipe, fill the bowl the rest of the way and flush.

It really does sound like ($100k) 'pyramid' issue. Water, water, water. You may be at a point where you will have a lot of cleaning to do to get rid of the pyramid. Maybe an almost full tank of water and some enzymes or ridx for a couple days to help break it down. Rinse and repeat as necessary.

Use more water!!!!

This 100%....MORE WATER!!!!! After I dump each time I put about 10-12 gallons of water in the tank. That will keep "stuff" from hardening and stopping you up.

Clearing up what you mean by releasing will help us understand your issue. Also, you should leave your black tank valve closed until your tank is full. If you are at a site with a sewer connection, don’t leave your black tank valve open. Use lots of water when flushing.
