- TexasJorgeExplorerI'm on my 3rd or 4th phone with them--ran the last one thru the wash in my pants with too many pockets. I drove OTR in 45 states between my last two OConus deployments with these phones. Excepting large areas of NV--north of L Vegas, it worked fine for me. Currently in Texas south of San Antonio. phone svc works, I cant get the inet browse function to, though. I am told this is AT&T country. You either pay $45/mo or $120 for 3. It works for me. I don't need a phone to make bfast for me. Some do.
My last "home on wheels" was a 'hillbilly uparmored' Humvee--THIS is the Ritz, by comparison... - Bird_FreakExplorer II

You have unlimited use but after 3G they will throttle it back a bit. I never noticed the difference in speed.
confused. How does "unlimited" = 3gb? - JimM68Explorerconfused. How does "unlimited" = 3gb?
- J-RoosterExplorerKyle, if Straight Talk ends up not working for you, you might want to try a Verizon Mi Fi Jetpack! Worked great for us while traveling all through the Western U.S.A. I will also add that I'm still a Verizon customer but I don't care for there customer service!
- trucker495ExplorerThank you all for the info
Kyle - MerrykaliaExplorerWe are on the east coast, but have been using StraightTalk for over 3 years. We have had exceptional service.

StraightTalk is available to either use the Verizon or AT&T towers. If you root/unlock your phone you can set it up for tethering. I just received a text from StraightTalk where my unlimited plan now includes 3GB of high speed data for web surfing, so I am all set to tether my PC to the phone when we travel.
StraightTalk is the best non-contract service out there.

What you just posted was dated BEFORE the text that I received on 5/16/2014 that tells me I now have 3GB of high speed data for web surfing. Terms change, as the text illustrates. No need for StraightTalk to send this text since I already had UNLIMITED service unless it was to give it's users an additional 3GB of data use for internet service to use. With my tethering I plan on using it. Feel free to stick with their old, outdated, contract terms. - rgatijnet1Explorer III

If you call them, they will help you get the phone on the network you want. Beyond that, there is no difference between straight talk and other providers...except it is cheaper and you have no contract.
I also have their 3g verizon wi-fi hotspot. It is a great value for people that need a wifi hotspot on a no contract/periodic use basis. - Robin1953Explorer
