- Mile_HighExplorerUnless they got fancy, you have left turn, right, and tail. Probably just a dirty connection at the plug, or you lost the supply to the plug from the coach.
However, many variables as others say. How many pins on the plug? - dahkotaExplorer

When hooked up for towing, all my lights work on the back of my motor home. On my toad, everything works but my tail lights. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this?
What kind of toad? What kind of connection? How are your toad lights rigged to the connection? - wa8yxmExplorer IIIHappened to me.. I have a special plug/socket with LED's turns out the RV was not feeding power to the towed tail light circuit.
Since my choice of brakes DID tie the RV's battery to the towed I hit the parking light switch and had it fixed 2.000 miles later (Broken wire they said).
Step one is to test at the socket on the RV.. if it is a flat four use a test light, not a meter One pin is exposed, that one gets the clip on the test light,, The pin next to it is insulated, that gets the Probe. - JimExplorerTo really answer your question, we'd need to see pics or have descriptions of what your RV manuf brought out to the 6-way or 7-way plug OR if like mine, the 6 was changed to a 7. Interesting that my Winnie I have a separate turn signal from the brake/tail lights, but at the 6-way plug, they combined it so the turn signal is combined with the brake signal. Then the PO put in a 7-way plug complicating things.
But, anyway, here's a link that shows what the various wiring setups would most LIKELY be, scroll down a bit: RV to Car wiring - Artum_SnowbirdExplorerOn your toad, when you say everything works.. when you put your tail lights on, you should also have front clearance lights. Are they working?
If your brake and turn lights on the back work correctly, but not your clearance lights I would hazard a guess that the feed connection for running lights is not working through the connecting plug.
That positive voltage feeds all four running lights. I would get your jumper cables out, and bring a positive and negative feed to the correct terminals on the toad plug using short bits of wire to make the connection, and test the toad lights that way. If that works, then you do not have power at the motorhome plug. - Dutch_12078Explorer IIDo you have a multi- or volt meter? If so, follow the tail light readings starting at the coach socket and on through each connection point to the tail lights themselves if needed. Where the 12-volt readings stop is where you'll find the problem. The resolution will depend on where and why the readings stopped. The sockets and plugs for the connecting cord are common failure points.
