Direct tv, type sat. Dish and switch

As long as the HD receiver they sent is a model H24 or lower then it is fully compatible. If they sent you an H25, HR34, 44 or 54 then it MAY still be compatible but you will need to add the DTV SMW hardware to your antenna setup.

Call Weak Knees or Solid Signal. You can buy one from them

Update, dtv doesn't have any new d-12-700 recievers, so now I'm not sure what to do, they sent me an hd reciever, not compatible at all. What has anyone else done to get satilite . I know could get the little box that sits in the grass,, or a completely new system.

Your existing D12 or a new D12 will not help. There can't be anything wrong with the old D12 if it worked before the installer changed settings. You just need to set them back the way they were. It's more likely that the new D12 will be setup for SWM than not as this is the new DTV standard. If not, maybe you will get lucky. Just be sure to never connect it to your home setup as it will automatically set itself up for SWM.

This got to be too frustrating, i requested dtv send me a new d-12, if i get this to work i will update this thread. I will also quit using it in the house!

The antenna booster would have nothing at all to do with a satellite TV setup.
Assuming he is using the same setup as before the only thing that changed is the SWM/multiswitch issue.

Been there, done that.

My advice is to have identical setups in both places.

Did ever work in MH?
Is the coaxial cable running directly to the receiver input?
Is the antenna booster power supply turned off?

Yes tha d12 going back to the RV. I'll keep trying the 18 inch round and multiswitch.

Since I assume you are trying to use the D12 in the RV the setting the that receiver much be changed back to 18" round and Multiswitch. It can take a couple of tries so some patience may be necessary. Continue through the routine to the end where it says Watch DirecTV to ensure the settings stay.
