I've blown my waterlines out for ten years now, and use the pink stuff for traps only. Have never had any water leaks. Anybody that does, isn't taking the time to do it right. I go around and check all my faucets with the lines pressurized to make sure all the water is out, including the toilet. Mind you I'm talking about city water inlet not water holding tanks or water pump as we don't use them. Then I open low point drains, and usually only get about a cup of water out at the most. Takes about 20 minutes to do, and one gallon of pink stuff. Not saying my way is the best method, just trying to point this out to all the naysayers. What ever works best for you is what you should do. Opinions will vary including mine. And the pressure I use is about 50psi.

Most RV systems are designed to be run at around 45-50 PSI, stickered at 45 and safe up to 60.

Back when I used the dry method I set it at 50 PSI.

now I use a better method.. the SOUTH method. Where you leave water in the lines and go to where it won't freeze overnight.

Missing a single drop will not cause damage!! Even a 3/4 full dip will not be damaged PEX is flexible.
DW doesn't like the after taste of the antifreeze, so with the new 5er I simply blow the lines.

As to the air pressure, you could run 100 psi as long as you have the low point drains open, and have allowed the lines to drain. The system will never see the 100#, that would only be an issues if you totally closed the system with that much pressure.

volume is much more important than pressure. the only place that pressure is required would be if you had a long vertical run which RVs don't have.

I hook up to my big 80gal shop compressor (have an oil filter) set to 120 output. With a faucet open I plug the air in and blow from the closest to the farthest and back again. Open low point drains first and then after blowing lines. I still wind up with water in the lines so I have to run some RV AF in anyways. The RV AF pushes the last of the water out(I can see it)and at -20° the pink stuff still turns to a clogging slush.

Hey good idea, if any lines bad, better to have air leak out versus water.

I hook my tankless 150PSI portable 12VDC compressor to the city water inlet. Since it is tankless it is slow cranking up pressure. I always have plenty of time to walk inside and open up a faucet...
