Suburban electric Heater won't work

I did a trial run about two weeks ago taking the RV out to make sure everything works before leaving on an extended trip. Everything worked as expected. Now I am out on a trip and the electric function of the Suburban 10 gallon water heater won't work. The propane works just fine. As to the electric option I have checked the circuit breaker in the electrical panel and it appears to be good. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

As Fordtruckguy points out, are you aware of the "second" switch mounted outside on the end of your WH?
  • I just went threw the same exact issue... Circut breaker tested good with voltage after...on/off switch inside trailer tested good with voltage after...no voltage at element :h after messing around for a bit , i was moving the small on/off switch inside the heater compartment outside the trailer , went back to see the element and got shocked!!! It is all working now... The switch outside was on.. but not allowing electric to pass by...
  • Can you get to the heater element to check for voltage to the element on both sides? The heater element might be burned out. Any chance the heater was turned on with no water in the tank?
  • Checked CB and 'appears' good......

    Should use a voltmeter.
Test that you have 110V AC power thru CB to ON/OFF switch.
Test that you have 110V AC power from switch to the electric element

Check that the 110V High temp t-stat is reset (Push to reset...under rubber cover)
