Advice on quad steps

Our trailer's pretty high, the floor is 36" from the ground parked in our yard which is pretty level, the first step is about 14" from the ground.
Often when we go camping it's not so level, I have one of those aluminum steps you can buy with the folding legs but still it's often quite a gap from there to the lowest step, like in this pic:

The stairs we have now are 7" from one to the other, my bud's are 9" which seem a little steep.
Wondering if anyone's had this problem, what you did to cure it, or if you've bought quad steps what kind were they, how much rise between each step and where did you get them?
I'm just talking bout the front step, we hardly ever use the ones into the bedroom.

We went with two sets of exercise steps. They can be adjusted for height simply by adding or subtracting one or more sections. They are wide and stable. Cheap, too. We got them for $10 a set at the Salvation Army store.

No, that wasn't me, but I just read it and that was my experience, exactly -- even the use of a Sawzall.

Thanks guys.
Barney, I remember seeing something like that before, that would be great, just add it when you need it. The price of te ones in your link are pretty steep, I tried contacting them but it didin;t work, wonder if they're still in business? Their site looks like it's from 2007.

I was actually hoping to get the step tread off a wrecked set of steps and making up the rackets to hang off my lower step, only thing is the local RV repair place went out of business, I'd asked him to keep an eye out for me.

Ya, a set of quads might be good too, was it you that did that review on those steps Bruce?
Mine are made by Hickory Springs, they have solid treads with no holes in them which we like, one of our dogs got her claws caught in our old trailer's steps and caused quite a commotion with a lot of blood.
anyone know anything about Lippert steps? Any good? Look to be the same as Stromberg Carlson..?

I had the same problem, so I bought the Quadra Step. It is very sturdy, but took a little modification to install. It was well worth the effort.

We have and use one very similar to this one called an Add-A-Step but it is not available anymore. I cannot vouch for the one in this link but it looks like a quality item.
