Aftermarket Exhaust for Ford 6.7L ??

I agree what you had installed looks much better than the "flame thrower" exhaust.

In reality it will not make any difference other than make you happier about the looks.

To the OP, as someone above said, good luck making it much louder. Don't think they even have a muffler anymore. Will have to get under one here and look. Without deleting, I think all you will hear is Pssssssssh!

y'all need more basics on back pressure of exhaust systems pre turbo back to the piston head and through the exhaust valves.

Did you know that for every psi of boost you get on the compressor side of your turbo charger, there is 3 to 4 psi back pressure from the tiny turbine wheel and blades clear back to the crowns of the piston on every exhaust stroke? What happens once past the turbine, with that kind of pressure buildup, is insignificiant, down stream.

If you are concerned about how your vehicle looks, wash it and wax it more frequently, and store it in a garage when not in use.

I changed the tailpipe on my GMC because i hated the bazooka look. It had no affect other than looks. I ordered it from Banks made the way i wanted because i didnt want a chromed coffee can on the end.

Because aftermarket performance auto parts marketing is basically a big lie. K&N is the best example I can think of, calling their product a filter when it's a sieve.

What you are saying is the only exhaust you can put on is a Ford exhaust. In a state with 40 million people, a county with 10 million people, (Los Angeles) I don't think you know what you are talking about. Certainly a canadian aftermarket exhaust is not CARB or EPA approved to give all of us clean air. Driving is a privelege, not a right. That privelege, should you abuse pollution laws, can indeed be revoked.

They are usually "filter/CAT back" systems for the 6.7L.

I followed the link and read the article. There was nothing there about exhaust systems. You added that on your own in your link title. It appears that the 2 companies were fined because they did not secure the necessary paperwork for the 'engine parts' that they sold in California. Shame on them.

Again, I'm looking at DPF back exhaust systems. There is no effect on any pollution equipment as all that equipment is forward of the connection point. My (truck) exhaust will still smell just like roses.

If I buy in to your argument than I would always have to use Ford parts to replace any exhaust components that rust out. Which is not true.

Are you telling me that there are no after market exhaust systems sold in California ? I think not. The manufacturers just go thru a paperwork exercise to get 'certified'.

And just for laughs, I went to the 'find a local retailer' part of the Dynomax site and typed in 'Los Angeles'. It gave me back over 500 local retailers. So I think I can safely travel thru the great state of California without worries of having my truck confiscated.

CARB has a noise pollution clause also. And that is where they get you. A cell phone call and a license plate number is all it takes. You've no idea how invasive and intrusive the Green Prius crowd can be in your life in the land of the politically correct.

Stop posting bogus and flat out wrong information like you can't change cams on new pollution control engines. Or you can't have a CAT back exhaust system. That's half truths at the very least and at most, a flat out lie.

GP just find an exhaust the a CARB number and you're good to go anywhere in the US. CARB compliant 6.7 exhaust system.

Op I get where you are coming from, these new diesels are so quiet. I like the older diesels that sounded like they were working. Anyway, let us know how it goes for you and if it doesn't work out you can get rid of the Ford and get a Cummins, they still have a little, very little, but still a liitle bark behind their bite....:)
