Progressive Industries PT30C Questions

I bought a good bicycle cable and use that to secure it to the post. No issues

My PT50C has been hanging around outside for over 5 years now full time and it hasn't walked off yet.

Love my built in one. Does not take up very much room, are you sure you can't fit it in. Love the display, lets you know what is happening with the electric coming in the trailer

Ours is hard wired with the remote display. Worth every penny. Can be turned off with the flick of a switch. The remote display tells you the error codes (if any) the real time amp draw, and the available voltage. Knowing the real time amp draw is great to figure out amperage when using a generator.

We never have to remember to plug it in. Never leave it behind.

Why turn it off ? 1- if the voltage is too low (brownouts), 2- if there is a missing ground as when running off a generator

No more than anyone else who owns an EMS-PT30C yet Progressive sells plenty of them every year, I'm sure many more than the hard wire EMS-HW30C version I have simply because the portable version requires no effort to use other than just plugging it in. Lock it, enjoy it, and stop worrying about it ... if that doesn't work for you ANY rig can be hard wired, it just takes a bit more effort. No one will tell you this but there are also technical advantages to the hard wire version that the portable version doesn't offer because it's a sealed unit and must be returned to the manufacturer for repair or adjustment. Both versions though are great products, certainly far superior to the Camco.

Used the 30 amp one for years and now using the 50 amp. Neither was hard wired and have not lost one yet.
