For the past 7 months I have carried a honda motorcycle on a custom made rack mounted to the rear hitch. That was fine for one motorcycle, now we have two. Mainly so I can go my way and the wife can go hers without having to unload the tc. After looking and pricing a bunch of different options I settled on a used but in great condition triton 8.5'w x 12'l aluminum flatbed trailer. I removed the salt shield tonight and ordered 5 sheets of bright tread plate aluminum to make a 8' wide x 4' deep x 40" tall box that my wife will tig weld together for me. This should give a huge enclosed and lockable area for that extra stuff plus leave me with 8' of deck space leftover for the motorcycles. We have covers already for the motorcycles and i plan to make those new style locking tire chocks to simplify loading. This trailer has a 2200 pound cap. so the two motorcycles weigh less than 600 pounds combined leaving me with about 600 pound of stuff for the box. And I can pickup the trailer by hand so it is less than 600 pounds so I should be nowhere near cap. I sure hope it works but it still disgust me to have to trailer anything. I loved being just one unit and going anywhere.

If my wife could weld I would love her even more!!!!Just curious. What Honda motorcycles, obviously street legal, do you have that weigh less than 300#?You'll get used to the trailer in no time. Just think of these poor guys in 5er's. They can't take any toys, let alone go anywhere!!!!

That sounds good. If you ever decide to add a boat you could beef up the axle and have her weld an upper level that flips down and extends to launch.

Post some pictures when you get her done...I have a 400 Burgman that I trailer behind my tc..

Had a guy next to us in Winnemucca with a Ford diesel with an Adventurer TC on his truck, nice Wells Cargo 2 axle behind it with his BMW 1200 touring, with sidecar, in the trailer. He also had a big Honda generator bolted in with the exhaust piped outside and power plugs on the front of the trailer to use, 220 and 30 amp RV. It was a nice setup with some racks in it for storage and an extra clothes closet in the front. Had a ramp door and a side door.

Yours doesn't? Ruthie Tigs pretty well, and REALLY like to use the plasma cutter.

Sure it is if he is 75 feet or less and he wants to take both MCs with him . I have towed double in Calif for nearly 30 years

you could put a carrier on the front of the truck as well, i carry mine on the front and pull a boat.

@gajd33 That looks really nice, but i recently broke a handlebar stem when the motorcycle is traveling in that 90 degree off position. That is why I am going to the trailer. That movement side to side really stresses different stuff than being in the same direction as movement.

A lot of people tow a trailer behind there 5ers

In a very limited fashion.
