TPMS Tire pressure monitoring System

rtate

I just installed A TPMS System and noticed that If I leave the monitor turned on and leave my trailer, the monitor continues to report the last temperature and pressure it received when I was hooked to the trailer.

This is telling me that when towing, if it loses contact with a particular tire it will act like it is transmitting reliable data when it is the last temperature and pressure it was able to read.

This is very misleading. You could actually be running on a flat tire and the monitor is telling me everything is ok.

Is there a way to change this maybe thru a default setting?

Just Googled "Doran Pressure Pro RV 360" and went straight to the Doran site. Followed the links to the 360 monitor with no problem!

Well, there no such thing as Doran Pressure Pro, so that might explain why I couldn't find the Doran Pressure Pro RV 360. It may have been the original, but it is now simply Doran Mfg., and Doran RV360.

OTOH the system looks good except for the non-customer serviceable batteries on the sensors. Probably not much of an issue, but hate the idea of being out of service possibly while getting a battery replaced on a sensor, plus the hassle of packing and shipping it.

Well.......they have CHANGED THE NAME ....but if you look up DORAN ---- YOU WILL SEE THE RV360 ..

I have had it long enough ,to have a couple sensors replaced , few under warrenty, and couple I had to buy.

They ship REAL FAST ... and I have had them ship to where I was staying ,or arriving.
No hassle .......easy as pie

So up to you ------ get a system that works,---- or chance Thousands of dollars damage WHEN ( not if ) a tire goes flat.

Totally up to the RV owner

If you can find a Pressure Pro 363, or better yet a Pressure Pro RV 360 on that site you're doing better than I. 🙂

Of course I found Pressure Pro, but I was looking for the unit described by Bfast54:

"I bought an AMERICAN MADE ...INSTANT reacting unit
Pressure Pro RV 360.
Made in Ohio....it uses radio signals and if I dont turn the trailer part off... it almost instantly says I LOST A SENSER when I drive away from my 5er.

Getting the CORRECT UNIT is a big part of any purchase

I reasearched the heck out of them BEFORE purchase."

He says he researched the heck out of them, but I can find absolutely no site for his Pressure Pro RV 360. Is he referring to the Doran RV360, or a Pressure Pro system?

Okay, I'm a bit confused. I can find a Doran RV360 and I can find Pressure Pro systems. But I can't find a Pressure Pro RV 360.

My understanding of the tireMinder TPMS is that it waits a considerable amount of time to report signal loss as well, but I don't have one and can't personally verify that. I have noticed that your rarely see the TireMinder system sold without a repeater.

As for worrying to much about this potential failure, I don't loose much sleep over it. I did install a repeater to minimize the chance of loosing a tire while at the same time having a dropout from loss of signal. I personally think the odds of that happening are small, but given the way the system works you really don't know how common system communication problems might arise. When first starting out on a trip the temp and pressure increases you tend to see appear to be regular, and constant between the tires so my guess is the system overall works pretty good.

How much was it? They don't show any prices on their website.

Go to the "http://www.rvtirepressure.com website. Click on the PressurePro Truck and Trailer link upper left. Opens new window. This one-Complete system includes the monitor, 4 sensors, antenna, power cord and mounting hardware. For trailers and 5th wheels longer than 40 feet, we recommend upgrading the antenna to either the 35 Foot Coax Cable or the Echo Repeater is the lowest priced at $405.
