When not towing, the truck sat a majority of the time. Did not originally replace the 2nd battery until the starting battery died 7 years ago. Replaced both then. Now the starting battery has died and I have replaced both again. Moved from a TT to a MH last fall. Now truck is going to be used for work commute. Have always been curious about the need of the 2nd battery since we never used a TC. Thanks for the insight, and sorry for not mentioning Gas or Diesel to start with.Re: Chevy Auxillery BatteryIt is a Gas truck, both batteries are the same.Chevy Auxillery BatteryI have always been curious about the auxiliary battery that is in my 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD. According to the manual, this battery is for if using a truck camper? That would lead me to believe that if I am not using a truck camper, I dont need this extra battery? When I recently had to replace the batteries, I was told I should replace both?Flat towing with a 3rd row?Looking for a vehicle with 3rd row seating that we can tow flat. I am not interested in any of the big SUVs that have this, something more mid-size? Any suggestions? Still have a TT, but will be moving up to a motorhome at some point soon and want to be ready with a car we can tow...Re: Looking for a GeneratorAgain, THANK YOU for all the responses today. Will definitely continue the research with the focus on Champion, Yamaha & Honda.Looking for a GeneratorI am interested in purchasing a portable generator that I can use at home & RVing. Honda seems to be the top seller, but also seems to have a very high price. There seems to be several competitors that have lower prices and offer the same or comparable noise levels. I've also noticed most of the generators sold at Harbor Freight have a pigtail 30 amp plug. Are these compatible to use for Travel Trailers, and are adapters available. Thanks in advance for feedback.Replacing Exterior ShowerI have been considering replacing the exterior shower on my travel trailer for several years for a variety of reasons. Now, I am forced to do it, as the hinge to the door broke while I was winterizing it this weekend. Looking on the Camping World website, they only offer one. Without heading to the storage lot to check measurements, I am asking if anyone knows if this is a standard/universal sized unit that is used on all travel trailers? Also, does anyone have any advice who has already done this type of project? This is not a new installation, but a replacement for the current fixture. Thanks.Re: Flying J RipoffI too have never had a problem using the card at the pump and getting the discount. I have had issues getting the discount filling propane, but an email to the company got the discount added to my account balance. I have also been told I cant use the card in a Pilot store that I should have been able to..Sure there are cheaper stations sometimes in the area, but with a 35 foot TT and CC 2500 HD TV, Flying J and Pilot usually offer me the best access to maneuver in/out of the stations. That is a big plus for me. Here in the mid-Atlantic, Sheetz often has the cheapest gas, but the design of the pumps often make this an impossible fueling option.Re: Cherrystone - tornadoThe tornado struck at 8:30 am. Some may very well still have been in bed. Not all that unusual especially if your on vacation.
