I checked with Cummins and 44 quarts is the correct amount with a filter change. All that I can come up with is this dipstick is out of calibration. This happened on my last motorhome with a cat C7 engine. You wouldn't think a dipstick would be that hard to make the right wayRe: 11.9 liter cummins dip stick problem.Brett I called Spartan and yes they did add the dipstick to this engine. I waited more than 15 minutes before I check the oil level actually it was the same thing when I let it sit overnight11.9 liter cummins dip stick problem.I recently changed the oil in my 11.9 L Cummins in a 2014 Zephyr. After adding 44 quarts of oil the oil level just barely touches the bottom of the add oil level on the dipstick. It would probably take about another gallon to bring it up to the top. But Cummins tells me it only needs 44 quarts. I talked to Spartan and they told me that it had the correct dipstick in it and to run it like it is. has anyone else had this problem?Tiffin Electric window questionI have an electric operated drivers window on my 2014 Tiffin Zephyr. Does anyone know if the electric opening and closing mechanism/screw or whatever can be lubricated? It is working fine but lots of things work fine till they quit because they are not maintained. Thanks KenRe: Onan observationI think the 7.5 onan quiet generator is an inverter type generator. I know that the speed of the generator varies depending on the load on the generator. When everything is turned off the generator really slows down and gets quiter.Onan observationI just got a motorhome with a onan quiet diesel 12.5 kw generator. I noticed that it was louder than my onan 7.5 kw in my previous motorhome. I just found that the 7.5 was a variable speed generator and the 12.5 was a constant speed one. I knew something was different. This 12.5 is running at full speed as soon as it is started. I believe I liked the 7.5 better. It was quieter. I wonder why onan did not make this 12.5 kw variable speed. Oh well Kenadvice on a 2010 Tiffin ZephyrI have found a 2010 Tiffin Zephyr that I am seriously considering buying. It has 33,000 miles on it. I understand that this 10.8 liter cummins engine used a def system. If I remember correctly this was about when the def was starting to be used and I assume this is one of the very early systems on this coach. I am just wondering if anyone has experience with this engine and if there are any common problems i need to look out for. I know the common wet bay floor, slide floor and roof radius I need to look at. Any suggestions, concerns or warnings on this vintage Tiffin? Thanks Kenneed guidance o used pricesI am shopping for a 1 to 4 year old Tiffin Allegro Bus. I know that I can buy new for 25 to 30 percent off of MSRP. When I look at used is there any guide at all I can use ? Will NADA help me at all? I know I can compare prices all over . Any ideas? Ken
