What a joke
I bought this hopping for peace of mind. I bought a $50,000 fifth wheel spend a extra $5000 for extended coverage that according to the sales people cover all major expenses but when the furnace quits it only covers part of the furnace! Then when you see the slide out starting to get water damage on the bottoms it only covers mechanical issues, what a waste of money I'm sure they have figured out the things that never brake and they are covered! I'll never buy another extended service agreement through "Good Sam"!19KViews0likes37CommentsAbnormal approval time.
I have been broke down in Lubbock, Tx for the past 8 days. It took 7 days to get an adjuster here and now the ESP reps say they want the shop to completely disassemble the rear end to find the cause of the failure. I don't understand what difference it makes since the rear end was full of oil and had not been tampered with by me or anyone else. I am over 2,000 miles from home and was on a perfect family vacation when this happened. Between the hotel, car rental and food, its costing me over $200 a day. My wife and two children have been cooped up in this hotel for 8 days and counting. Is this what the Good Sam advertisement means? We'll fix it when we feel like it???????????????? Hi- I am having an issue with the extended warranty program and my Camping World store. I purchased a new fifth wheel and extended warranty from Camping world in 2012. This year (March 2016) I took my RV into the store i purchased it from with about 10 issues thingst hat have built up over time. These issues per the warranty appeared to be covered by the extended warranty. I notified Camping World Service Writer of the extended warranty. They went ahead and performed all the repairs. now that they say it is ready (9 months later...) they are telling me i have to pay for all the repairs (approx 4K) because the Extended Warranty Company will not cover them--- reason--- Camping World never got approval for the repairs. I was told by the service writer that sorry but they cannot help me- I need to pay the bill to get my RV. On top of this now I have called the - Service Manager- Service Writer- Store GM- none will return my call or attempt to work with me to resolve this issue.11KViews0likes47CommentsDear Marcus:
Since I am told by member services that you are the only corporate being without a phone number listed, I am wondering do you actually respond to the posts on this forum? Who is actually administering this joke we call the Good Sam Extended Service Plan? I need to speak to someone from corporate, if not Marcus then somebody who carries some weight with claims administration. I only got Eric's voice mail and I think he tried to call me back, but we didn't actually have a conversation. John Birkheiser was no help at all. I have been on the phone ALL DAY trying to get an issue resolved, and nobody at the Good Sam Wonderclub is capable of it. Do you REALLY want me to post the problem I am having here publicly? No skin off my nose. But if I actually do that, I am going to open every single OTHER RV forum and consumer complaints board I can find and copy and paste until my keyboard burns up.9.8KViews0likes57CommentsGood Sam ESP is a Ripoff
Just got off the phone with these guys. WE had a policy for about 10 months paying $245 per month. In month 5 we had a hydraulic hose failure and a busted cab AC. They authorized the repair for the hose failure after much back and forth between them and the dealer. They then insisted an inspector look at the AC. HE showed up and informed them they would need to disassemble the AC in his presence and to reschedule an inspection. That was in August and by November they still hadn't returned despite numerous calls. Then in January I got a letter from them stating they had cancelled me. Just as well. The service was awful. We fought with them and so did the dealer. They have now refused to cover the original authorized charges. Is that legal??? How could it be? Those charges were covered while the policy was in effect and I paid them the premiums during those months. I wound up eating the entire $3782 bill PLUS their premiums when $2450 of those repairs were already authorized. Total out of pocket is $6,232. These guys are a ripoff. Next stop BBB and the Texas Insurance Commission. I understand from other forums that the Secty of State is also quite interested in this so called insurance. I want my premiums back and think I have a good case to get them though I will probably have to sue them to get it. Fine. I'd sooner spend another $2500 on legal fees than to let them get away with this. Buyer beware!8.2KViews0likes32CommentsLOSS OF COMMON SENSE
I am writing to warn potential new ext. warranty subscribers. 1. my shower pan cracked. 2. I called in the claim, spoke to kevin. in our conversation kevin said the usual fix for this claim is to replace the whole shower stall. 3. brought rv to repair shop. owner called GS for authorization. the claims rep. approved replacement of the pan but not the shower wall. repair shop explained that to replace the pan the wall has to be removed since the wall overlaps the pan so water runs into the pan and drain. repair shop explained the wall is screwed and glued to the wall of the rv. since the wall is thin fiberglass chances are it will crack. claim rep said if they crack it they have to pay for it. they of course choose to not repair the pan having to accept such stupid mentality. I called and repeated THE WALL HAS TO BE REMOVED TO REPLACE THE PAN. THE WALL IS VERY THIN AND WILL ALMOST SURELY CRACK. GOOD SAM SAID THE REPAIR SHOP WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE IT OR I WOULD. 4. we decided to pay for the wall and it was ordered we had been out of the rv for 5 wks. upon the rv shop explaining the pan has to be made and it could take a long time, we canceled the order and are dealing with a cracked shower pan. 5. even if the pan could be replaced without cracking, having a new pan with old wall would look pretty bad. 6. the amt. is not thousands of dollars about $206 more. 7. the GS rep. said the shower is part of wastewater system my contract reads gold terms and cond. ext. ser. plan page 2 of 3 quote: 2. waste system assembly-covers ALL parts, EXCEPT for the following: whirlpool, jetted, or spa bath systems and related accessories. 8. I believe the contract has been breached. 9. I will make a complaint to BBB. 10. I will look at my options for not honoring the contract in good faith and don't care what the cost will be for legal fees\ marcus please feel free to contact me asap by my contact info on your membership rolls.7.5KViews0likes17CommentsHow does one cancel their ESP?
Can anyone tell me how to cancel the Extended Service Plan? It was added into the price of my new Toyhauler and I have decided that I don't want it. I expected to get an information packet in the mail, but its been over 30 days and I have nothing. So much for the 30 day 100% full purchase price refund.7KViews0likes8CommentsDoes not pay in full for A/C Compressor
Hello Marcus, Have been paying for a year for the gold plan. Had to use at the Monaco plant in Coburg, Or. We got approval for repairs this morning , inspector from Portland looked at the ac unit yesterday. Well what a surprise, the compressor cost x amount of dollars for the part, extended warr pays less, Jim on phone in Denver said we have this amount fixed for all motor homes no matter what cost. The plan says it will cover the compressor. I want everyone to know that is does not, only your fixed amount which is less than cost of part. I paid a lot for policy with 500 deductible. Then find out that you only pay a couple of hundred dollars. I am disappointed and yes I read the contract. Jim6.8KViews0likes4CommentsService Plan is worthless and not worth the money.
We purchased our service plan when we purchased our RV at CW. Although we asked several times after we closed the deal what was actually covered in the service plan, no one could or would explain. We should have looked it over and asked before we purchased but we didn't. The finance guy told us our RV was covered bumper to bumper, so we assumed it was everything for the three years we purchased the plan for. We have issues with the RV and when I read the agreement for the SP it turns out that the ONLY things that are covered is the slide out motors, A/C unit, and major electrical parts. And even the major electrical parts that are covered is a very small list. We paid an excruciating high amount for this service plan and we get no coverage like we were told by the finance guy. In the end we get nothing and even when I called the underwriter I was told by them that we agreed when we signed the papers regardless if we understood it or not. She was right, but they were and are no help. STAY AWAY FROM THE EXTENDED SERVICE PLANS THEY OFFER YOU. THEY ARE NOT WORTH THE MONEY AND DON'T COVER MUCH OF ANYTHING.6.5KViews0likes34CommentsLooking To Good Sam Cust Serv To Help On Extended Serv Plan
I have a Class A 2013 Winnebago Journey, Model 36M. I purchased it new from the factory through Camping World at the Louisville National Rally in 2012; it now has 27,200 miles on it. I need assistance from Good Sam who offered my Extended Service Protection Plan(Good Thru Sept of 2019). I have a River Park Inc. Infotainment System installed by Winnebago when the RV was built and am having it repaired/replaced as it suddenly would no longer turn on and boot up. I am working with La Mesa RV in Sanford, FL, an authorized Winnebago Dealer. They also have dealt with this Good Sam ESP many many times. They have, however, met with some resistance on getting my Infotainment Center back to full operation. Turns out someone at Assurant has told them they would only cover the actual unit. However, the replacement unit is a different unit that replaces the one I have and does the same stuff. Catch is the new unit takes a different card with software(about $350) and a different antenna (about $150). Assurant is saying even though I have the $100 deductible plan for services at other than a Camping World facility, that they will only cover the unit and not the software card and antenna that need to be part of the package so the Infotainment Center will work(main thing for me is it provides the safety feature, the display of the three cameras on the RV). I have never heard such baloney in my life. When you have an accident in a car and have body damage and also the engine is messed up........as an analogy; I have never heard of an insurance company saying we will cover the fender repair or replacement, but not the engine. You need the full package to be functional. I have as of this past Friday contacted Good Sam Customer Assistance to see if they can work this issue as it should be. I asked them as I have no appetite for arguing a point that should not even be an issue.6.4KViews0likes31Comments
