WHY DO WE SAY “SELECT” PILOT AND FLYING J LOCATIONS? We say "select locations" for 2 reasons: 1. The state of Wisconsin does not allow fuel discounts due to state law. 2. Pilot Flying J has "dealer" locations, which are locations they do not own. As such, these locations can choose to "opt out" of the discount programs. Dealer locations are only required to give the discount for diesel at the truck diesel lanes and only for transactions started at the pump. Dealer locations do not offer discounts on gasoline and do not accept the cards in store. Good Sam Club members are recognized with a Good Sam icon / badge. In order for RV.net to recognize you as a Good Sam Club member or Life member, the email address you used to sign up at RV.net has to be the same email address that you provided for your Good Sam Club membership. Problem Solving Steps: 1. If your email address for RV.net and the email attached to your Good Sam Club membership are the same and you’re still not seeing the Good Sam icon, log out of RV.net and then log back in. If you’re a Life member and your email addresses match, the site will automatically display the Life member icon. 2. If your email addresses are different, update one of the email addresses so that they match. Allow 48 hours for the systems to update. Log out of RV.net and then log back in. 3. If you’ve recently upgraded to Life membership, allow 48 hours for the systems to update. And, make sure your email addresses match as noted in #1. If the solutions above don’t resolve your issue, please email webmaster@rv.net.37KViews0likes0CommentsSo what does being Elite member get you?
When we purchased our toy hauler last year we were upgraded to Elite member status. We were told we could get free camping, additional discounts and even a free Good Sam camping guide. After a few unsucessful tries to get the camping guide today we were told it is out of print. So I have a nice coupon anyway. We have also not seen any "additional" discount on Camping World store purchases as were were led to believe. We have made numerous purchase in the past year with no additional discount. Today I purchased the $269 telescoping laddder and I asked about the Elite discount I was told the listed member price was the discount. ??? As far as the free camping goes we haven't tried it as the locations and availble times haven't meshed with our schedule and times.29KViews0likes11CommentsI just got the new RV Magazine
Hope this is the correct place to post this: I just received my January copy of RV Magazine in the mail on Wednesday. I had a subscription for MH Magazine for 3 years while I owned a MH and Trailer Life Magazine before and after for about 20 years when I owned TT's and now a 5th wheel trailer. I realize this is the first issue of the new combined magazine now that Marcus Lemonis Publisher and CEO of Camping World, but I hope it improves. This issue is 80% advertising for Camping World/Gander RV and Outdoors, Good Sam with some articles thrown in. What happened to the tech articles, ect. Just want to post my displeasure with the dropping of the Highways magazine. This was one of the main reasons I kept my Good Sam membership.. I will seriously reconsider this at this point. What is even more interesting is that because I already get Motorhome you will stick an insert in it but if I did not get it you would give it to me for free?? What's up with that? Let's penalize those who are paying for the magazine already??? I have a feeling you will need to reconsider this decision as I believe others will have the same issues with this decision.23KViews0likes60CommentsRoad Recommended by Good Sam and Completely Unpassable
This is my first post. have been a member of Good Sam for a while now. Planned a trip to Angel Fire New Mexico from McKinney, Texas, by way of Plainview, Texas to visit a brother. Used the Good Sam Trip planner and followed it completely. The directions took us to a road from Las Vegas, New Mexico that was approximately 70 miles long, Highway 434. Within minutes of getting on the road, we became uneasy because the road was two lane, but very narrow. We soon found out that there was not place to turn around and we would have had to backup several miles to discontinue that road. We were pulling a toad so decided that press on since it seemed our only option. The road became a one way road, then became a dirt road. Having no other option, we continued to what became a dirt road that had concrete barriers on either side. Since this road was on the Good Sam trip planner we pressed on. Then the concrete barriers took an approximate 20 degree angle and then 20 degrees back with in feet. Hoping we could make it through, I attempted it, and got wedged with much damage. Actually wedged. Couldn't go forward. Luckily it moved the barriers enough to get through, after backing up (causing even more damage) after unhooking the Jeep. I say luckily because a 60 mile backup seemed impossible to me. I will never trust GoodSam Trip planner again. Apparently the road has been in this condition for years. The damage made it completely impossible to get into he electric and water/sewer bays. We continued to the good road which was an approximate 5 miles further and had to go straight home by going north and then interstate highways. The chassis was not hurt so we took two long travel days, using the generator for power on the overnight.16KViews0likes56CommentsGood Sam Swipe and Save vs. Pilot/Flying J RV rewards
I know this involves a Good Sam benefit but I think discussion might be valuable for all RVers. Here is what I see comparing the "Good Sam Swipe and Save" card against the "Pilot/Flying J RV Rewards" card; This is for the USA, the discounts vary in Canada. "Good Sam Swipe and Save card" http://www.goodsamclub.com/pfj/ $0.03 discount off each gallon of gasoline or diesel $0.05 discount off each gallon of propane fuel $2.50 off dumping fee (regularly $10) "Pilot/Flying J RV Rewards card" https://myrewards.pilotflyingj.com/rv_customer.aspx $0.02 discount off each gallon of gasoline $0.03 discount off each gallon of diesel $0.10 discount off each gallon of propane fuel $5.00 off dumping fee (regularly $10) The "Good Sam Swipe and Save" gives a penny larger discount on gasoline but loses when compared to the discount on dumping and LPG. The "Pilot/Flying J RV Rewards" card also gives other store and restaurant pricing and discount benefits. I use PNC Bank rewards Visa card for gasoline purchases which pays a reward of 4% at ALL gasoline stations. At a price of $3 per gallon that is a reward of $0.12 per gallon or $0.16 at $4 per gallon, which handily beats the "Good Sam RV Plus" charge card. I realize that not everyone has rewards cards so the Good Sam charge card may be an option for those people. Did I miss anything? Any thoughts/comments?14KViews0likes34CommentsGood Sam Club Fuel Savings!

I was surprised to see that no topics have been posted related to the changes related to the Good Sam credit card. We were notified on August 16 that our cards would expire August 31, due to Barclay Bank no longer carrying the accounts. We were further told that new cards would arrive shortly, and then we could use the new numbers to pay all our automatically-debited accounts. It is now August 26, five days before our cards expire, and we have yet to receive anything at all from the Good Sam Club. This seems to be just another example of how the Club has gone downhill since the recent change in administration, and since we will not accept that sort of treatment, we will let out membership expire at the end of its term. Are we the only members who have experienced this problem?12KViews0likes34Comments
