- nards444Exploreryou still have to get rid of the stuff once you pump it out. Personally Id pay to come get it pumped by somebody and be done with it. my septic tank at home is 1000 gallons and it cost me 200 bucks, cant imagine a trailer would run half of that. Doesnt seem cost effective to do it yourself.

Most of the pumps that I have seen use the 3" pipe and macerate the contents down to a garden hose size.
Most of these pumps are $200-400 range.
.........Thanks , flojet makes several macerator pumps I just need to find the one with the most lift capacity ! , jf - wkswensonExplorerMost of the pumps that I have seen use the 3" pipe and macerate the contents down to a garden hose size.

Now THAT'S funny! - skipncharExplorerHay you could probably sell TICKETS to the event if you try that. Easiest fix is to find a dump station that uses a PIT to collect sewage and simply loosen the valve and allow LIQUID to drain before removing and replacing the valve. I've had to do it on the road (while traveling) before and it's not that bad a job. Just choose the dump station wisely.

- DtaylorExplorerWith all of the possible things that can go wrong, and be prepared for, sucking my black tank is not at the top of the list. If you are that concerned, buy a spare handle/cable to have on hand.
- CANAMKIDExplorerBeen there, Its the cable thats bad.
- B_O__PlentyExplorer IIHave never heard of a valve itself breaking so it won't open. If you look at one you will see it's not an issue. The cable that goes to it is another story. If it doesn't work you can always drop the covering on the underside and operate the valve by hand. Pumping it out will not be the answer you're looking for. There will always be some left that won't get sucked out. Yuck..Besides who would you get to suck on the syphon hose??

Have you looked at the valve? The problem is frequently a broken or loose cable.
............It's not broken yet , I'm trying to prepare in case it does ! I figure I can purchase a suction pump for the same price it would cost me to pay someone to pump the tank out !
............Someone makes a pump where you can run an ordinary garden hose into the holding tank via the commode and suction out most of the contents.......I've seen them advertised ! thanks , jf
