MSRP, where do they get it, LOL Dealers can ask what they want. Like with a lot of things the mark up is there for a sales tool... a sales tool to make the consumer think he has won.
What they said... there is no such thing as msrp on rvs. The dealer literally makes it up.
Maybe it differs by manufacturer. - Atom_AntExplorer

MSRP is for their dealers and public as a starting point....manufactures do not sell retail...hence their dealer network.
Then it is up to the consumer and dealer to agree on a dollar amount that is agreeable to both.
This is not something new!! Manufacturers and dealers have to make a profit as in any business so why the questions??
So for the consumer...negotiate and get the best deal possible.
It's new for me!! MSRP on autos is standard. The same everywhere. and you can access it on the manufacturer's site. MSRP stands for 'manufacturer's suggested retail." This term states that the originator of the price is the manufacturer. In this case, MSRP should be the same everywhere.
If the dealers are setting their own prices, then they are using the wrong terminology, which is quite misleading, given that people are used to the proper used of that terminology. This is the outrage, not that they are making money. I can appreciate that everyone has to make a profit.
This is the RV industry not the Automobile industry!
Something to be aware of and remember is in the RV industry there is "Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price" and "Suggested Retail Price". See the keyword?
Believe it is law (not sure if Federal or by State), in the Automobile industry that dealers display the MSRP in a window...not sure if required in the RV industry.
Actually Suggested Retail Price is common in all retail business...not sure why it is questioned in the RV industry??
Oh, and yes there are RV MSRP's.
Here are a couple;

News flash: We had gone to look at Boat N' RV to see some used 5'ers and to take a peak at the Evergreens to see just how "green" they really were, and they showed us the Bay Hill 340RK. We fell in LOVE with the kitchen design!! BUT....their price was Standard Price: $87,651....Sale Price: $80,638!! Well....that was unthinkable for us!!
Today, I was just wanting to look at the floor plan again so I Googled the model number and Youtube came up for it. It said for under 50K!!! What???!!! I was in disbelief! so, I clicked through to their website, which turned out to be a wholesaler. I asked for an instant email quote, and the new price? $48,000 and change!!!
What???!!!! This is unbelievable!!! I went into shock!!! AND outrage!!! The MSRP on this site stated, $55,900, but BNRV stated that it was $87,651!
I cannot believe that dealers have marked up the RVs so much!!! It almost looks like the clothing industry, where they mark up 100%!
Well, now I am wiser to this industry, after seeing actual wholesale prices! What an education I have been getting these past few weeks!!!
I called Evergreen and asked them what the MSRP was for this unit and they told me that they did not know it....to ask my dealer. What a racket!!! As some of you have stated that MSRP is just a fictitious number, now I have clear proof of it!
Google is your friend and an educated buyer will know when the price is a good deal. - kakampersExplorerYou can access Heartland MSRP pricing on the owner' s forum...they are provided directly from Heartland.

I purchased a 2014 Rushmore lincoln the first of July. I have took the unit on 3 different trips. I did have a few minor issues on first trip but all issues were addressed by the dealer. My next 2 visits went event free. I know there is good and bad with all units and I have seen some negative feedback for the rushmores but personally I real like our unit and so far so good. I did buy a 5 year extended warranty just in case. You never know about the 5 slides or the 6 pt level system (I love the leveling system). I love the lincoln front living floor plan with the front window. You can see out but have the privacy where no one can see in. I also like the tv, stereo and fridge in outside compartment. The retail for this unit is upper $80's but it can be found in low $60 on line. I did find a few that were $59 but they didn't have all options.
Gosh...I read some of the posts on their user's forum and they have had a whole host of issues! I hope that yours works out well for you, because it is a really Kool floor plan. I love it...just my style! - Us_out_WestExplorer
