Until you understand things like "bore and stroke" and then piston size, this whole thread has been a waste of time.
Bore - stroke - compression ratio - hemispherical vs. domed "pop top" v. flat piston types - camshafts - timing - octane and cetane rating, etc.
6 cylinder vs. 8 or 10 cylinder.
"There is NO substitute for cubic inches" theory.
I wonder how many people here have ever rebuilt an engine? My first rebuild was a 4 cylinder on an 8-N Ford tractor when I was a teenager. I have rebuilt slant 6's, Ford and Chevy V-8s. Performance V-8s using Crane cams, Edlebrock components, Accel electronics.
Does anyone here wonder why NASCAR races are mostly only 500 miles? The high revving, high horsepower, high performance engines can't take much more stress.
