Changing out the City Water Connector

Changed out the defective city water connector today. Was extremely easy to do! Thank you everyone for your help! This was my first repair. I hope all the rest will be just as easy!

I use the proper sized rubber chair leg cap to keep debris out of quick disconnects. I use 5/8 inch diameter.

Some of these have a built in water pressure regulator set at 40 or 60 psi so we need to check and see if yours is so equipped. FYI, I replaced our 40 psi inlet with a 60 psi and there is a world of difference.

It's possible that it just needs to be reseated. The fitting is a check valve ( Back Flow preventer)Sometimes a little grit gets onto the seal and causes it to leak. By using a screwdriver or other small tool push in the center part and let spring back. Worth a try anyway, Good Luck. Bill

Yep it looks pretty much like one of the ones in the first row in the link path1 posted. But it looks no way like the hatch ones. I guess I won't know until I go in and actually order the part. We did try to tighten it but that made it worse. Thanks all of you for your help! I will let you know how it turns out once I get a chance to fix it.

First off see if your connection is loose. Other than that Pretty easy, and straight forward. I used plumber putty instead of tape. I also had a strange looking washer that I had to match up as new one didn't come with one.

But if you have something other than what is in first row of pic's in link listed, I HAVE NO IDEA.

The 62135 is very easy to replace, two or three screws and then unscrew from tubing.

Sch911 and Enblethen. Thank you both for your help. Since I am brand new to this I am not entirely sure what information you are asking for Enblethen. The motor home is a Class A and from my understanding it has 2 fill points. On one side is a fill connection where I can fill the fresh water tank (Gravity??). On the other side of the RV is a compartment/Hatch? where I connect the power, sewer, and city water. There is also a hot and cold drain point located in this compartment and a hand held shower. I can also turn a lever and the fresh water tank will fill thru that city water connection. This is the connection that is spraying while under pressure. The tank is a 100 gal tank.
