I have a 2014 Fleetwood Bounder Classic 30T. I'm not sure if my emergency exit window slide open for everyday use, or are for emergency use only. I contacted Fleetwood Customer Service, even sending a picture of my window mechanism. The reply I received was that many do open, but they didn't have a window like mine to look at, so as of right now, no one knows. I'm waiting to see if they can find one to look at. I've included the photo, hoping someone here can shed light on my windows. Both emergency exit window are the slider type, and they have screens on the left side, indicating to me they should open for ventilation. I've tried to open them, but they are either very tight, or are not made for normal use. I hope my picture posts OK. Thanks for your help!

They stick after a while because of the rubber seals. A person really should force them open at least once a year to keep them operable.As for whether it's OK to use all the time, if it's got a screen then it's for normal usage but if it doesn't then there's probably no way to prop it open.

Agree. IF it has a screen on it. Use it. Besides. Its yours. You can open it if you want. Opening it will not break it

What you appear, from the photo, to have is a regular sliding window that is large enough to be designated as a fire escape .. Thus the red handle. So if that's the case, of course , yes use it. You should open all your fire escape windows once in awhile to make sure they aren't stuck from age and to insure you understand how they work. Many swing out on a hinge just leaving the outside frame and as previously said the rubber seal can stick.

X2 on the silicone spray. I just did all of my sliding windows and now they all open and close a lot easier.

I agree with all of the above posts. It is better to know how to use something before you have to use it and don't know how to use it or find out that it doesn't work. JMO

I agree. Mine is similar.
It is just a regular window with a red handle.
It slides open to the side like all my other windows.
Have you opened your other non-emergency windows lately?

The non-emergency windows open fine, but one does stick a little. I'll try the silicon spray in the tracks and give the emergency windows another try. Thanks.

My emergency and non-emergency windows are exactly the same and exactly the same size and operation. The only difference is that because at least one window has to be designated as an emergency exit window, the manufacturer installed a red handle/lock. If you compare the red lock with your other window locks, you will see the only difference is the color. Basically I have three windows in my coach that are the same size and could easily be used as an emergency exit. If needed in an emergency, I can use any of the windows and will not make it a priority to go to the one with the red lock.
