Galley faucet replacement question

The galley faucet in our 2004 Pleasure-Way Excel TD is leaking at the on/off handle. Has anybody replaced one of these faucets? How difficult is it? Is it a common RV or boat part or harder to find? Yep, I will write to PW next week but there's nothing like hearing someone's experience, if possible. Thanks
  • CAPOPPY --I won't be visiting the Magic Mountain area for quite awhile but we just went through Santa Clarita twice on our way to and returning from the Annual PleasureWay Rally in Hemet,CA. Overnighted at the Camper World.

If you're only trying to fix the leaking faucet, call Phoenix the company that manufactures the faucet. They will send you replacement parts which you can install from the top side quite readily. I still say it a piece of junk anyway.

The faucet acts up every trip I take and I just got home today with the darned thing dribbling periodically as I traveled. Phoenix sent me a complete replacement faucet which lasted about 2 trips before acting up. I give up!

Just be careful with the undercounter footprint... I did a replacement and ended up having to cut away quite a bit of the plywood underneath to get their holddown rings to fit.

X2. If the existing fittings are the same as a common household faucet, then any one will do. For the plywood, I usually pull out one of the most versatile tools from my kitbag, the Dremel tool with a woodcutting bit.

I have a 2005 PW Excel and have removed the faucet way too many times! It's a piece of junk at best. It's a bear to remove also. You have to remove the shelving back panel and cabinet door to the left of the refrigerator, remove the upper outside vent to the back of the refrigerator, take off the sheetmetal air baffle behind it and then you'll see the bottom of the faucet. After removing about 3 square inches of silicone and unscrewing the bottom screw of the faucet, disconnect the two water lines and the faucet should pull up and out.

My goal is to remove it one last time so that I can trash it and replace it with a REAL faucet.

So Ernie, when are you going to be visiting the Magic Mountain area? :W

  • Just did mine. Easy.. any household faucet will do. Hate the RV plastic.
