Sounds like a scam. Ask for $1300 but if the customer doesn't go for it, try $500. I would be disgusted with the place and probably would try somewhere else.

I've heard great things about rvroof.com. I just wish they had more than just one location in Florida to go to, since their product completely solves one of the major nasty issues with RVs out there. If RV dealers could spray this on every rig, it would go far in solving one of the nastiest problems there is with RV-ing in general. Of course, it would have to be touched up if a branch scrapes it, but nothing is 100%.

We live in hot and sunny CA, have 2004 26Q. Last summer, (for the first time) we had our local mobile RV guy inspect our roof and reseal as needed along with roof vent lid replacement. I think reseal part was less than $100. Our roof seals/roof may have been in better shape than yours. Potential trouble spots are the major front joint between overhead cap and main roof, seal around the front overhead window, around A/C unit and vents, and batwing TV antenna mount as well as damage to roof material from tree limbs, etc. I doubt that you need a new roof and would get a second opinion from a more trustworthy RV repair service.

Im deathly afraid of height always have been, it kills me when I have to replace lightbulbs in and around the house ha ha.

It was bad enough getting up there so he can show me the deterioration of the "caulk/sealant", it was pitted and had cracks.

Will let you guys/gals know the outcome.

Sounds like a legitimate offer to me and is probably a good deal for the price. A lot depends on how comfortable you are working on the roof yourself. At my age and size I am very cautious about getting up there just for inspections etc, and working close to the edge of the roof would be very uncomfortable for me. But if you are okay with that part of it, sounds like a job most DIY-ers could do themselves.

The thing about it is that he approached me at the register and handed me his card with other employees around including a manager. Which leads me to beleive that his employer or at least a manger knows about his side deals.
He's been with this company a little over 18 years and manages the repair department.

I was concerned at first when he first approached me but after handing me his buisness card in front of coworkers I figured it was okay.

By the way he doesn't get paid until work is done and im satisfied.

Sounds like a pretty good deal, but a word of caution. I would not pay this man a dime until he does the work and you personally inspect it. I say this because you are dealing with (in my opinion) an unethical person. Unless his employer (the dealer) knows and agrees with him using their company as a "referral" to get work on the side, he is probably violating the terms of his employment by contacting a customer on company premises and company time to get work for himself only. I know for a fact that car dealerships have strict rules about this sort of thing, and I would be very leery of having this guy do the work. If he will cheat his employer, why would he not cheat you also if given the chance. This may sound a little "holier than thou" but just think about it.
