- TravelcrafterExplorerTook my ole Travelcrafter out on it's to me maiden voyage. Went to a State park in central Ohio.Tar hollow, It's close to The Hocking Hills region. a really nice park; pet friendly for those who travel with their little friends and lots of electric sites. had no issues what so ever had a good time with one of my son. Kicked his butt in gen rummy. Its allways more fun with the boys.
- BennieHExplorerReplaced both batteries this past week. 6 years, not too bad. Cleaning and loading up.
Getting ready for the last trip of the year. Not ready to put it away, but it is that time of year. - woodworker414ExplorerIt arrived yesterday morning. The GARMIN RV 760 LMT gps. This is for the C. Now if we get lost I can blame it. LOL. Now just have to learn how to use it. I just love toys.:)
Life is a trip, ENJOY the ride.
Safe Travels.

watch the weather.....decades ago we were tent camping there on the West Side and heard the elk bugling in positively harmonic splendor....then the ranger came by and said we had to leave as they were locking the gate early due to blizzard coming in....we were the last over the summit as the gate was chained....past the stone ski hut at the top & down the long long grade into the East Side...
beautiful for sure - pianotunaNomad IIIFilled it with gas for an upcoming trip. Moved to a new urban docking location for Oct 9 and 10.
- Desert_CaptainExplorer IIIPicked up the rig from storage this morning in anticipation of an early departure tomorrow morning. A long weekend at Roosevelt Lake with our Class C camping friends sounds like too much fun.
I finally installed a new 12V cigarette lighter outlet on the back side of the dinette. I pulled power directly off the battery bank bellow the dinette. The run from the outlet is 5' (each way), so I used 14/2 marine grade multi strand wire which will keep the voltage loss at < 3%. Placed an inline 10 amp fuse between the batteries and the outlet, heat shrink on all of the connections and secured the entire wire run.
I recently got a C Pap machine from the VA and needed an outlet close enough to the rear queen for the the DC cable as we frequently do not have hook ups. The cable has an internal fuse as well and the C Pap reportedly draws a max of 6.67 amps including the draw from the built in humidifier.
This outlet will probably see service for our Wally World oscillating ($12), fan as well as battery charging for all of our electronic toys. We have just been using the outlets on the dash for the last year without any issues but it will be nice to be able to utilize the house bank as well.
:C - EMD360ExplorerLoading up for a short mid-week trip. Love being retired and able to get out on the road tomorrow! I've been researching boondocking sites here in Colorado--slim compared to AZ but out there. Can't wait to explore our new state with our retiree National Parks Pass we will probably make the drive up to Rocky Mountain National Park and maybe hear elk bugling. This is the life. :)
- TravelcrafterExplorerhugged it.
- nomad_289ExplorerCompleted 30K/10 year service:
Flushed/replaced all fluids, replaced serpentine belt, checked brakes.
Made 4 square to four flat wiring harness for Utility trailer.
Cut memory foam to fit dinette bed, freeing up overhead. Wow, with the overhead bed folded back I gained what feels like 3 feet of interior breathing room! - Desert_CaptainExplorer III

Oklahoma is really hard on our RV. Cursed state for us! Had to put the handle for the antenna back on, tighten the handle for the bathroom vent and fixed one blind. Have to go back and check the rest.
NS on that !!!
Oklahoma has THE WORST freeways of Any state bar none !!
IMHO: Oklahoma is not even close to being one of the worst states, in fact it is one of the best. We crossed 22 states on a 2 month cross country trip in May/June and I-40 was some of the finest interstate in the country. Only Missouri had better roads and it was close.
Now if you want to talk about horrible roads with potholes the size of VW's try Washington DC, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio. For the ultimate thrill drive the interstates in Michigan. :E Between the worst winter in recent memory and the 170,000# steel trucks they let run around the state we are talking some serious potholes.
I had a Michigan State Trooper personally apologize, on behalf of the State of Michigan, for the condition of their roads. This after stopping me when he saw me repeatedly "weaving" into the middle lane(only when it was vacant), from the right where I was driving. Turns out he could see me moving over but couldn't see the potholes I was dodging from his seven o'clock position. Following the apology we both had a good laugh and he sent us on our way wishing us luck. :B
