- pompomgirlExplorerLike I said, I use their resellers and phone support only because the stores, frankly, suck.

That was your mistake. The only function of a Verizon store is to sell a new phone to every teenager in town at least once a year, and a new cover for it once a week. Managers and salespeople are clueless.
I went into a Verizon store...
Customer service is obtained by calling that dude in South Carolina. - WayneLeeExplorerI have been with Verizon before they were Verizon, somewhere around 1988. I have generally been pleased with their customer service and the quality of their network both cell service and data service. However, when my contract ended for my USB modem, I thoroughly researched Millenicom's data service. Millenicom is a reseller of Verizon, Sprint and AT&T data services, they do not offer cell service, data only. Their data services run on the exact same network as the named brand vendors.
I chose their Verizon data plan with a Verizon MiFi modem/router. I get 20 GB a month for $69.99 with NO TAXES and NO CONTRACT and no additional fees. When I opened the box and took out the MiFi, it still had the Verizon label on it. I have been using this system for about a year and have had good service and good connectivity in almost every place I've been in. - mikeleblanc413ExplorerIt is apparent from all of the comments that a lot of people think well of Verizon. I have yet to experience that satisfaction. I went into a Verizon store on I 45 (south of Houston) today, and their business model reared it's ugly head! When I told the girl (her tag indicated she was the manager) I wanted info on a data plan, she told me, "...it's all on line. Do you want me to print you a copy?" HUH??????? She did not offer any explanation and when I began questioning her, she shuffled me off to another employee. He wasn't any better! Had to pull, and I do mean pull, everything from him! I'm most disappointed! Stuff happens, learn from it and move on! That is what I'll do.

You need to give more info and interaction in this and the similar tech corner thread - obgrahamExplorerAfter getting the wrong info from 2 local Verizon stores here (dealing with Global Dataplans), I came home, got on the phone, got some dude in South Carolina who told me "I'm in the Global Division, man, I ain't gonna give you no BS!" Cracked me up. He gave me all the information I needed, stopped to check on some points as we went along, and had a sense of humor about it all.
Great customer service, as I've had on the several occasions I have called them.
Their cellular coverage has suited me fine for calls and internet, all over the country.
The local stores: naaaah. Mostly catering to teenage twit(erers). - pompomgirlExplorerWe have been with Verizon for years, mainly because their coverage is superior. We use a local reseller (Diamond) just because the young guys in their mall kiosks are eager to please, and I find going into an actual Verizon store to be a drag. I don't know why, exactly, but the store are dull and obnoxious. However after buying from a reseller, we get great phone tech support. They will keep trying and trying until they get a problem fixed. I have never paid extra for an air card, opting instead to use EasyTether. Verizon won't admit you can do it, but it works great once you figure out the settings you have to have on the phone.
We have used smartphones - Treo, LG, and currently Samsung - but we find they try to do too much with the phone and most of it doesn't work well. I'm now considering getting a Samsung Galaxy tablet and a basic phone. iPad is just too big and expensive. I have friends with the Samsung who love it. Just about as many attractive apps as the iPad, smaller to fit in my purse. A simple phone to take phone calls and a pad to do everything else. I'm thinking it may work better that way. No interest in changing providers, though. - lfcjaspExplorerWe started out with Alltel (Altell???); then discovered their coverage was spotty and erratic. We switched to Verizon on the advice of friends who travelled a lot and they do have great coverage. Yes, they're pricey, but we want to be able to make/receive calls as much as we can and so far so good. Even on the train headed out West:) If saving money is your priority, don't go with Verizon, but if it's coverage and reliability, then I'd recommend Verizon. And their customer service is pretty decent, but this is a huge tech-heavy company...I'd rather go to our local Verizon store!
- rfryerExplorerWe originally had AT&T many years ago until they insisted I should be able to tell a roaming area from their little 30 mile to an inch coverage map. Then we went to Sprint. All our experience was good though we had a few spots with iffy coverage. Some cg’s in Yellowstone, one near Telluride, and in Jemez Springs, NM. I found in Telluride, though, if I stood on a particular boulder I could get coverage.:) But actually everyone had that problem regardless of who they had.
My son had Verizon and it would benefit him if we switched, so we did. I rarely use the phone but the DW does a lot and she would like to go back to Sprint. Mostly, I think because she seems to be told one thing and gets another, or maybe she gets different stories from different reps. She recently upgraded her phone while we were in OK and was told there was a $30.00 fee and for $10.00 she’d get unlimited texting. So then they tried to charge her extra fees and she contacted our son and he upgraded it and sent it to us there.
Then she got a bill for “over texting” she’d received. So she doesn’t care much for Verizon’s customer service. I don’t like confusion and would sort it out for good, but it’s in my son’s name and somewhat awkward for me to access the information. All I would say is no matter who you go with be sure you thoroughly understand all the little quirks they use to generate more income. - EycomExplorer

I was curious about Millenicom.
So I went to the website.
Cheapest plan I could find was $70 for unlimited.
So what am I missing?
If there's no inspirational dissatisfaction with your current plan, you're not missing a thing.:)
