this much paranoia stems from a guilty conscience. :) If you spend your whole life sweating the small stuff you will never relax and enjoy the adventure. - old_guyExplorerthere as you put it people who will steal any thing, even their grandmothers teeth., just for the fun of it. I have heard so many times that people come out of the store from doing their shopping and someone pulled the handle on their 5th wheel hitch and the unit falls on the sides of the truck. just good ol' boys having fun. it's a shame, there are stupid people like this out there.
- down_homeExplorer IISomeone will steal anything. When we stop at Wal Mart or other places, especially areas we don't know, I stay at the coach while she shops or vice verse.
- camper19709ExplorerThe cord itself is not worth anything to anyone but me. But, costly to replace. Maybe I have let the horror stories of kids messing with tow bar pins and stuff just "because" get to me :(
Will try and lighten up in the future :) - GoostoffExplorerthis much paranoia stems from a guilty conscience. :) If you spend your whole life sweating the small stuff you will never relax and enjoy the adventure.
- NaioExplorer IIIs it just a normal extension cord? Can you ziptie it to the tow bar/dolly?
- TrackrigExplorer IIThe used cord isn't really worth anything and neither is worrying about it. More than likely if you removed it at night you'd forget to reinstall it the next morning.......

I don't unhook anything. As far as putting locks on all the tow bar pieces, I use a couple but not enough to keep me from unhooking the toad in an emergency without keys.
OP What value do you think the cord would be to someone? I'd say there is very little market for it and almost no value for a thief to sell it. Consider also that it would not have the female ends.
You could devise some kind of lock or clamp to help secure it. Even something with a simple secure type of bolt would help you concern perhaps? Or just buy a second cable as a backup? - dons2346ExplorerI don't unhook anything. Had a that had a lock everywhere there was a hole to the point that he couldn't separate the toad from the coach. Toad caught fire and he wound up with two piles of ashes, one for the toad and the other for the coach.
