- DickOKExplorerUse peppermint oil. Works and doesn't stink like moth balls.
- noe-placeExplorerWe are fortunate to have a garage for our MH but that will NOT stop mice. I always have a couple of cats around my property and I have NEVER had the first problem with mice in our MH or anywhere on the property for that matter. In fact, the cats are so proud of themselves, occasionally they'll leave a dead mouse, shrew, etc. on the patio for me !!

- loggenrockExplorerActually the motion sensor in things like game cameras and outdoor lights is an infrared detector. It reacts to changes in the heat pattern in its range. Google "how does a motion detector work". If a leaf disrupts the heat "pattern" it "sees", it will activate. Just sayin'.... ST
- Duke-44ExplorerI've used mothballs to keep mice out. I put 1/2 dozen on each jack foot and more around the tires. I put them around or on anything touching the ground. If I move the unit I use gloves to pick them up and put in a zip lock bag for reuse.
I have not had a problem since.
Of course, sealing all holes you find is a given. - portscannerExplorerPut a GoPro on the cat.
- RoyBExplorer III put down powder once to check the trails and found a snake trail going across the floor - decided it would be better for me to not know what might be lurking around the floors after dark.
Might had been a mouse dragging a snake maybe...
Best thing I found to do on my trailer was turn on all the inside lights after dark and crawl around under the trailer looking for lights shinning through the cracks etc...
Almost all of my problems were associated with cables going the floors inside the cabinets. Seems the manf likes to put 2-inch holes and maybe only two or three DC cables going thru them...
My OFF-RoAD POPUP was the worse case ever. I installed PVC Electrical boxes with weather tight lids (LOWES) upsidedown under the floors and connected all of the access ports with 3/4-inch flex PVC tubing. I then cut a large hole in the center of each PVC Electrical Box to gain access to the topside of the trailer floor. This sealed up all of the two-inch holes I could find. Also got to route all of my DC CABLEs under the trailer in a very protected manner. No more dragging my cables off when being pulled through the underbrush on my off-road trips back in the woods somewhere.
looks something like this drawing showing my cable access points in BLUE.

We have about 20 game cameras at my club and they all sense on motion not heat. In fact if you set one up with any kind of even small foliage in the sensor range you will get hundreds of pictures of with nothing but moving leaves twigs whatever. The average game camera should easily pick up movement of a rodent, interesting idea. - FizzExplorerGet a black light and do like CSI, follow the urine trail.
