rear axle on dinghy

BENDICON: A Chevy HHR: Made between 2006 and 2011. A smaller car, designed like a station wagon. It can be towed 4-down with an automatic tranny. They retailed for around 18 thousand. Mine is a 2007. VERY good product.

Question: What does "HHR" stand for? I found it means "Heritage High Roof"...a concept car from years ago.

That's the way I seen his new HHR parked at our rally, maybe he was checking something underneath it.knowing the guy like we do he could have been up to anything, but it did look kinda funny.

You have a Jeep? I hope it is a 4X2 (two wheel drive) Jeep! If it is a 4X4 (four wheel drive) Jeep, it can NOT be dolly towed; according to every Jeep Owner's Manual I have ever seen, it must be on a trailer or towed four down.
I used to tow a Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited.

thanks for the comment Mowermech. My Jeep does have a steering damper.

I was reading the owners manual for Stehl car dollies today and they indicate that their dolly should be loaded with the drive wheels on the dolly. They also state that the steering should be locked.

If your vehicle has a steering damper, why not fabricate a solid rod to replace it? You could even make it out of a large turnbuckle, so it would be adjustable.
Anyway, yes, I think your idea has merit. If it is designed to be easy and simple to install and remove, patent it and put it on the market!

Thinking about fabricating a spare tie rod that I can connect one end to the frame and the other end to the drag link there by keeping the steering absolutely rigid with the wheels facing straight. It would be easier to attach a tie rod than to remove the drive shaft.
