I found that my rubber LP gas hose was crimped and causing problems with water heater, furnace and stove. When I finally tracked down the problem and straightened the hose all was working just fine. Can I replace that hose myself? It appears to be threaded on both ends.Are LP gas connectors threaded backwards? Left to tighten and Right to loose? Seems I heard that sometime. Also, do you use teflon tape on the connectors like a water connection?Many thanks for help and suggestions.

Yes, they are easy to replace. Should be standard threads (righty tighty).

Yes you can change the hose yourself.Buy the correct length.Use 'yellow gas pipe tape' for the threadsHoses and sealing tape available at propane stores, rv stores etc.Left hand thread fittings will have a 'notch' on the nut

My propane filler hose (20' long) had a leak near one end from rubbing on a piece of sheet metal. Simple to remove, normal threads and I was able to have 18" cut off of it and a new end and I replaced it. Slam dunk.

PLEASE NOTE! Use the specific teflon tape for use on thread joints of metal pipe in assemblies handling propane, gasoline, petroleum oils and natural gas. I believe the tape roll/package is YELLOW.

When you get it replaced, use soapy water to check for leaks.

Got the new metal flex hose installed this morning. It was an easy job. I then used soapy water to check and found a very small leak before the regulator. I hadn't even been working on that side of the regulator. Tightened everything up and all is well.

Now to head to Fort Wilderness for a week.

I got sick and tired of dealing with rubber-band quality LPG hoses running from tank regulator to pipe inlet. So I had an LPG liquid motor fuel hose made up with crimp fittings. Not very flexible but with 90 degree and 45 degree fittings, it was a snap to install. Also canned the single stage regulator. 11-years later, not the faintest trace of a bubble. A manometer check last year 11" of water column pressure right to the tenth.

Brand doesn't matter. All that really matters is the length and fittings. Take it to your local RV dealer and match up a replacement.

Thanks everyone.
Now to find the exact replacement.
Mine is a Marshall Gas Controls, Model A6 Flexible Hose Connector for LP Gas.

350 PSI Max WK. Pressure.PN:426#1404 It's 42" long.

This from a label that was on it. I can't find that part number to purchase anywhere. Finding anything on Marshall is a blank. Can find RV dealers who carry Marshall but nothing with this part number. They are all just like, Duh! One told me he had a hose that was 144" long......

The black, green, red and blue ACME connectors have different BTU ratings. Like 80K, 200K, 500K and ???K

Green is the common RV pigtail version, black for your back yard grill.
Red for some sort high BTU burner.
