New Coachman, Water Pump Issues - Updated/Fixed

Ok, color me completely baffled.

Dealer called, said there was debris blocking the filter at the pump.

I did not check that, because the pump did a most excellent job pulling water out of the winterizing hose and was flowing fine. Since the winterizing hose is upstream from the filter, I'd have never thunk that was an issue.

I'm not completely buying the explanation, but they're claiming it's fixed.

Winterizing valve

Is there possibly a way you can set the valves so you can blow air or pump water through the winterizing valve and back to the fresh tank?

tank---ball valve---T connector---pump

---winterizing tubing---ball valve---T connector (above)

If the tank ball valve hasn't failed, and it does "feel" normal, then I should be able to blow into the tank. I can not blow into the tank.

I have an appointment to take it to the dealer in two weeks. I'm speculating a crushed or crimp line from tank to first ball valve.

Yeah one of the problems with help over the internet, especially without a picture. I for one assumed that it was a three way valve, not a standard ball valve.
Winterizing valve

Is there possibly a way you can set the valves so you can blow air or pump water through the winterizing valve and back to the fresh tank?

Just a silly question, but a 2way valve is either on or off... how can it be installed incorrectly? There's no check valve, it's a simple ball valve.

Faulty, maybe, but it "feels" like the ball is turning.

Unfortunately my friend is several hundred miles away, don't know anybody that has the pex clamp tool, I use shark bite for any plumbing work around the house.

Me too. It may be a result of finding the pump running with a dry tank for what may have been months. I've had the pump apart a couple times and it hasn't helped. It loses prime any time we travel unless the tank is completely full. One of these days I'll just replace it.

My bet is the valve is faulty or installed backwards if that is possible.

About the only thing I would recommend before heading to the dealer is to take that valve out of the system and see if you can blow and suck on the line to the tank with no valve in place. Call the service manager at the dealer and explain the issue and ask if they will still honor the warranty if you pulled the valve off for basic troubleshooting before making the two hour drive.
Or ask your RV mechanic friend if he has the PEX crimping tool you can borrow. If so then cut the crimp bands off and check the system. If you figure it out great. If you can't figure it out, put some new bands on the joints and pull it to the dealer.
