Wiring an Inverter to Run a Small Fan in Bedroom
Hello Everyone,
I'm very new to the whole RV'ing thing. Imagine my dismay when I found out the rear of my coach has no power unless the generator is running or hooked up to shore power. I am one of those people who cannot sleep without a fan running.
What I would like to do is wire a fan in the bedroom underneath the corner cabinet with a fan that can operate all night while I'm sleeping without running the generator or being hooked up to shore power. It just seems unneccessary and wasteful to have a generator all night so that I can run a fan when I'm out in the boonies.
I'm thinking for this that I need to connect directly to the house battery which is right under the passenger bedroom side. Thus I'm thinking of drilling or running a wire through the wall or floor of the coach up into the bedroom and hooking up an inverter.
I do have some concerns as I've never done this before.
1. Is there an easier way that I'm not thinking of (besides using a battery powered fan which will not be strong enough and will require constant supply of batteries).
2. Has anybody done this before and were you happy with the results?
3. Will running a fan all night drain the entire house battery overnight (does anyone know what kind of draw a medium size fan would pull on the battery?)
Thanks all for your opinions and suggestions.
John
