Looked at a 2003 lance 915 yesterday here in Texas. Drove 3 hours each way from Dallas. The TC interior looked real clean, no interior water stains, soft spots or smells. Everything worked except the Onan generator which he told on the phone that he knows a place that would check it out and for some reason the owner and I could not get the furnace to kick on. The few cons are both overhangs are dry rotted. Driver side is worse than the other. I know this is very fixable thanks to the tutorial on Lance wing repairs here on this site. Genny cranked but would not turnover. Awning brackets over entry door down by the handle on both sides are loose. Think its from moisture damage. Patio awning is in real nice shape. Both awnings are carefree Colorado. There is slight Hail damage all along the passager side of camper and some hail dings on the roof. Electric Atwood jacks work and brackets are tight. The aluminum roof needs to be caulked where all the vents, skylights, and cabover seam. Owner said he has not done it in a couple of years. I told the owner I might be interested if he could find out what was wrong with the generator and furnace. Owner called me today to tell me he took TC into shop and they told him it was a small part that is a quick fix and that they were going to check furnace tomorrow. Would like some opinions if I should Walk due to overhang rot and slight hail damage or what is a reasonable offer for this model. He was originally asking 9400.00 and then got him down to 8000.00 but with both wings with dry rot and Slight hail damage. I am assuming he will pay to fix furnace for sure. Appreciate any opinions.

Since it has the awnings, it is probably loaded with other options such as outside shower, oven, tv antenna, roof ac, radio, gas/electric water heater. If so, the price you talked him down to may be fair. Assuming of course the rot is only in the wings and you have the willingness/ability to repair your self. Unfortunately, no real way to know the extent of damage until you tear into it.Would want to fix the awning brackets first to make sure the wood isn't rotted in the area.If the hail damage is minor, I wouldn't worry about it. Just would make me feel better when I started pin-stripping it on the forest service roads.

You did not mention the air conditioner or fridge. Leaks around the holding tank or under the sink?

Have you looked this camper up on NADA?I personally wouldn't pay $8,000 for a camper that need much work, especially extensive repairs like that.In '09 I bought my '03 Fleetwood 11' camper, loaded with just about every option. It didn't need any repairs at the time. I paid $9,500.

AC works great, fridge was on and cold. No leaks under sink or bathroom. No leaks in inside cabover and window either. Has an outside shower, Also has a satellite roof antenna and solar panel on roof, and a roof rack. DW and I decided to just buy used TC cash up to $8000 and use it till end of 2014 when we will be in position to upgrade to a newer Dually Truck and newer bigger TC. I will not be hanging onto any TC we purchase for more than a year... Average retail on NADA for this model with options is 12,085 and low retail is 10,030 with options.

If you are planning on selling/trading it at the end of 2014, will you be able to recoupe your money?Last year I purchases my 2000 Lance 1010 for $6,000 from a dealer for comparison. No awnings,satalite,solar, or generator but it was immaculate shape.Good luck for what ever you decide.

Keep looking. Sounds like a lot of money for what your getting. I picked up a 2004 Lance 1010. From a dealer and extra clean.
I looked at a lot of junk too. They are out there and you will get more on the other end.

I wouldn't purchase it. You never know what you are going to get into with that rot.

I bought my 2001 Lance 820 a few months ago. Outside shower, tv antenna, no awnings, no solar, no rot, roof a/c, 3 way fridge and gas water heater all in good shape...I paid $7,000 for it. As I'm sure you are aware, truck campers are not common here in Texas so I felt I got a good deal on it. Just letting you know as a basis of comparison.

Hey all, After posting about the 2003 Lance 915 loaded with options but has hail damage on passenger side and also some hail on drivers side. I have still been looking. The owner called me back and said he brought the camper in to an RV shop here in here in Dallas and had the driver side rear wing and awning brackets looked at for estimate repair. Told me if I wanted to come down and take a look at talk with techs if I wanted . Went down with wife and looked at camper inside and out again. Looked at driver rear wing all taken apart and dry rot was contained in just the overhang. Techs told me it was not that bad. Owner went ahead and had them fix the rear wing and lower awning brackets. $800.00..Generator has also been repaired for $150.00. My wife and I while looking noticed inside noticed there is a soft spot near entry door on floor that goes back about 10 by 10 inches. Talked with RV tech and he said that they would cut back linoleum on sides back past bathroom door to see how bad and cut and fit new flooring. Sounds like a job my father and I can do fairly cheap. Owner wants 8,000 but I told him today that with hail damage and soft spot on floor that no way I would pay that. This model with options is $9800 low retail on NADA of course without Hail damage. I thought for an instant to offer $6500 and then another to keep looking. Any more opinions are welcome.
