- davidafExplorerWouldn't do me much good but it's a good looking truck and it has a screw on fuel cap!
- drittalExplorer1) weight and payload. The Titan XD is heavy because it has a 899lb diesel motor and a beefier frame than a 1/2T. I expect a gas version to have 600lbs more payload.
The 6.7 cummins only weighs about 300lbs more than the 5.0.
There are F150 with higher payload than some F250 Powerstrokes.
2) price. The diesel tacks on about 5k. Again, comparing gas 1/2t pricing to a diesel 5/8t.
In the Ram a cummins is a $8,995.00 option. - blt2skiModerator

Just make sure your under all your ratings when you cause an accident. Your good then...right...
Of course not..if you cause a wreck...your negligent...overloaded or not.
Common internet myth..."If your found overloaded when you cause a wreck you are going to get sued." As opposed to causing a wreck with in ratings...totally protects you from being sued.NOT
Thanks!

Hopefully I fixed your quote.......
If something is your fault, you can get sued. if something is NOT your fault, you can get sued none the less of plaintiff feels you area at fault........
My insurance pays to limit if DUI. that is illegal, same with overloaded per manufacture, but under paid for license wt etc.
Marty - LearjetExplorerpeople will bag, timbren or what ever to increase payload...if you will :)
you'll see 5th wheel trailers behind these trucks soon. - jerem0621Explorer IIJust make sure your under all your ratings when you cause an accident. Your good then...right...

You would have to explain your expertise in vehicle design and engineering in the event of an at fault accident when you exceeded the payload. A lawsuit would surely follow.spoon059 wrote:

As you can see, I clearly addressed the civil lawsuit here. I was replying to the comment about "violation of law". A civil lawsuit has nothing to do with violation of LAW. - CKNSLSExplorerSpoon059

Wait until they have an accident due to being overloaded, kill some people, and have their insurance company refuse coverage because they were in violation of the law. Granted, most people will overload their 1/2 tons and not even think twice about it. And, in most cases, it doesn't matter. Until, someone gets hurt or killed because of it....then that trigger can be un-pulled.
More internet speculation. It is not a "violation of the law" to overload your vehicle. The only violations would be exceeding your tire weights or exceeding your registration weight. If you register it to 12K lbs and put E rated tires that are rated to handle 3000 lbs each, you are perfectly LEGAL.
Safety is another issue.
Negligence in a civil trial is another issue.
I'm not going to get back on my soapbox about all that again... but I am getting tired of the "internet lawyers" spouting off about legality issues when it is painfully obvious they don't know to what they speak... - IdaDExplorer

I wonder what the payload will be when they introduce the V8 model. Sorta like 3/4 ton trucks. Get the gasser and get a good payload, get the diesel and payload drops fast.
Still don't get where Nissan is going with this truck. They had a winner when they decided to put the Cummins in it and totally dropped the ball on payload.
It was my understanding the gas version is going to be the new body style on the old (previous generation) frame.
The XD is based on their heavy duty van chassis and it will eventually offer diesel and gas powerplants.
The regular Titan has a different chassis but my understanding is that it will be a full redesign of the previous generation. It will be gas only. - CKNSLSExplorer
