Do you leave your diesel running ...?

I see many diesel drivers who leave the engine running while fueling (or other short-term occasions). For a while, I asked why they did that, just to see what their reason was. Never got the same answer twice. Some answers I recall:

"It's better for it." (no specifics)
"Shutting off and restarting will ruin the injectors."
"Just always have, don't know why."

Do you leave your diesel running at the pump? If so, why? What does your owner's manual say?

Let's leave the issue of cooling down the turbo out of the discussion. That is a known good thing to do.
