Truth, the AISIN is Made in USA. Largest transmission manufacturer in the world. Does that make them the best, NO! Their track record puts them Very high on the totem pole.
Interesting picture. You have always stated the Aisin is "Made in the USA" and it was tagged with that label stating that. Seems that is not the case.
FTC has a whole bunch of rules which allows manufacturers to state a product is made in the USA. It's obvious that the majority of the parts of the aisin are foreign and that would be why they state manufactured NOT made.
"Manufactured" and "Made" are not the same in the eyes of the FTC. Read up on it sometime.
YES, I should have said Manufactured In USA. Don't think I was trying to hide anything since the picture I POSTED clearly states it's MANUFACTURED here.
I sure do understand the difference. - hellfirehydraExplorer

Guess since this can of worms has been open, lets get accurate stats,
To say Toyota is more American than Ford or GM is incorrect. There are a couple Toyota models in the top 10 but GM is the clear winner in that regard.
Take a look. You'll be surprised at the results.

This is a really neat website. Thank you!
Was definitely surprised on more than a couple!
Surprised the GM 2500's aren't in the list. Their 1500's were a lot less "American" than I would have thought. - tinner12002ExplorerActually its Aisin-Warner or Aisin AW, as they are a joint venture with BorgWarner since 1969. Aisin is 30% owned by Toyota group and as of 2005, Aisin AW passed GM powertrain division as the largest producer of automatic transmissions in the world. I know Cummins12V98, that's not what I wanted to hear either...lol. But its in black and white.
- tinner12002ExplorerI guess I'll have to sell my Ram and get the chevy...NOT! Silly test, who really cares.

spud1957,
You are so right. Tranny components are made offshore and imported as goods in process and assembled at Kokomo, Indiana. Aisin is Toyota Seiki owned in Japan.
Cummins12V98, likes to spread it thick and plays games with many things just like FCA does. You really have to read the fine print and the deceptive wording.
Yep and good ole GM is such an up standing American Company right? They are probably at the bottom when it comes to honesty! They screw their salary retirees every chance they can along with their customers. Oh but as long as they are an "American Company" it's all good right Nutz?
Toyota is considered to have more American content then Ford and GM. America imports pay taxes in America (well as much as any American company does) they support American schools, charities and on and on. Give it a rest already!
To this day my plant still supplies converters to MB in Alabama and it does not look like it is going to end any time soon.
So what did Fiat do to you that makes you hate them so much. We all know you hate anything Chrysler now it's Fiat also?
