Leveling kit for my tow vehicle???

The truck has air bags on the rear end, but as I said I have never had to use them with this trailer.
The suspension has handled the job on its own.
Even with the trailer loaded and ready to go it doesn't sit level it he rear is still up so was thinking it wouldn't throw it off by adding that 1.5-2 inches for leveling.

You are right Grit dog, sorry about that. I also removed the other info I posted as it was not specific to the method of leveling I think the OP was referring to, but another possible 2 stage method he could use.

For sure I would add the leveling kit- then you can fit bigger tires and or wheels if wanted- besides it looks a whole lot better.
All the guys telling you no are the same guys that have no problem adding air bags to the back of their truck... Just do it.

First of all, welcome to the forum!

Trucks are designed with that rake so that they sit level when loaded up. If you level the front end so it sits level when empty, the rear is gonna sag with the trailer on it. Unless you use the airbags to keep the truck level with the trailer on it, in which case it's gonna ride hard.

Leveling kits are helpful to fit bigger wheels/tires etc, but trucks that are built for off-road very seldom do a lot of hauling or towing.

If you have a 4X4 look at a similar truck in 2wd. I will bet the spacer blocks at the rear axle are shorter. Might be the easiest fix?

I'll look into that. I just put some 32" tires on and now the rear is 1" higher. I knew that going in. I may just take the spacer out of my Timbrens and let the rear drop another 1". It settles 2" with the 5th hitched up so hopefully that will get me back to the original tow stance.

Dave Smith Motors in Kellogg, Idaho will build them on site after delivery from the factory. 2 inch front lift, tires, wheels, other goodies.

Anyway, the gist is the 2 inch lift at Dave Smith is accomplished solely by placing a thicker top cap on the front coil springs.

Nothing more. Levels the truck, removing the slight front low appearance they have.

It's not gonna point your headlights at the moon, nor affect towing.

Dave Smith, cause it's part of the package, puts on different shocks, but their custom build manager told me the factory shocks would still work fine.

Anyway, go for it if you want to. But do remember that ALL you need is the thicker cap for the front coil springs. You certainly do not need some fancy lift kit.

I do believe I am eventually going to do the thicker front cap / 2 inch lift on my truck also. But this will be to compensate for the droop that is bound to happen once I replace my stock front bumper with a BuckStop bumper.

The point is if you sit level when hooked up as many newer trucks do by adding the 2" front lift you will be nose high with the kit towing.

One of the reasons I went with the rear air on the 15 I have on order it sits with a small rake forward hitched or unhitched.

I had a 2in level kit added to a 2010 F350 PSD. Spacers put on top of the springs. Allowed me to put on taller, wider tires. When I got it home, I noticed the truck looked crooked. Went back to shop and they had to order and install and adjustable track bar to get the axles to line up. Another $250... I now have a new Ram and wouldn't think of lifting. It sits perfectly level when the 5er is hitched. The ford squatted a bit after the front lift.
