It seems that most everyone here is misunderstanding you. Perhaps that is a reflection on you and not everyone else?
Again, how you do things has no bearing on the situation. There is no need to explain how you have always bought with cash, and so on. It's not relevant to getting your trailer sold.
You are not getting a serious bite listing the trailer at $6000 cash only. If you want to sell it and get a new one bought in the next week, something has to give:
1. drop your price;
2. work with someone who will finance it (meaning drive the darn trailer 60 miles to the bank so the person can get their loan approved);
3. trade it in.
Rather than continue to beat a dead horse, make a change and get a new result.
All good advice. - toedtoesExplorer IIIIt seems that most everyone here is misunderstanding you. Perhaps that is a reflection on you and not everyone else?

You seem to be jumping all over the place. First, you expect them to have cash in hand. Now you say you're willing to let them go get the money. First you say they need to bring it with them in order to see the RV, then you say you're willing to let them get it from the bank the next day. You repeatedly say you're willing to lower the price, but then you keep commenting that they don't come with the full amount in hand.
If you're willing to wait a day for the cash, then who cares if they get a loan or not. The next day you will have a cashier's check for the amount.
Your attitude is very condescending towards the people you are trying to get to buy your trailer. You keep talking about your financial prowess and that has no bearing at all on any of this. It doesn't matter how you live your life - if you want to sell your trailer, you need to stop throwing an attitude and acting superior to your potential buyers.
Now you're saying you have told everyone to go get their loan and come back with the money. But that is NOT what you've been saying all along. You have repeatedly complained that you can't get someone to show up with the $6000 in cash and willing to buy upon sight of the trailer.
Seems to me you are just throwing a superiority attitude.
You have not followed the progression of things with a very good understanding of things and that is why you are confused. I asked a question about putting a line in my ad that said, "Must have Cash in hand to come see the trailer." I asked a question. That is all. I never said I did that. Go back and read and you will see I am right. There was some discussion about this and most people agreed that it was not a good idea and I did NOT put it my ad. Can you at least concede that I did listen to advice on that point?
Listen, I just told you how I operate and do things. I never said I was superior. If you feel that the way I choose to live is superior, then maybe it is, but I did not say that. In just said, that it was not my fault that people did not have and cash, and that it was mostly their fault for choosing to not save up their money. Tell me what about that statement is untrue?
You don't seem to understand basic human behavior very well. Every person makes choices on how they live life and they have their own justifications for how they choose to live. People tend to not do the things they think are not good for them. They tend to do what they believe is best for them. So you could say that every person thinks their way to live is the the best way to live.
I choose to live debt free and save up to buy what I want. It is illogical to think that I would choose to live this way if I did not think it was the best way for me to live life. The same holds true for every other human. So each person thinks the way they choose to live is the best way, or else they would not live that way. Just because every person feels this way, does not mean they think they are better then everyone else, it just means that they feel they have made better choices the some other people.
I am sorry if I came across as condescending. I am not. Opinionated, Yes. Loves a good discussion, Absolutely. But superior, not by a long shot. Only God is superior, and I am but one of His weak children that needs His help to get through each day. - azrvingExplorerA dealer will offer $1500. OR $5000 but jack the new one up by $3500. They will pay $1500 to $1800 and put it on the lot for $4,800 with financing on location. Buyer will pay interest plus over pay for TT by $1000
$4000 to $4500 and if I'm off it will be $3,700. - WalabyExplorer IIJust trade it in and buy your new rig. That's the only surefire way you are going to get this done in time.
Have you even gotten a trade in offer? Is it reasonable enough for you to accept it and move on?
If you need to move it in 10 days or less, and get your new rig, I do NOT see that happening. You could have had the whole deal done by now trading it in, and with a heckuva lot less stress.
Thoughts and prayers for your friend.
Mike - ams1130ExplorerI would not look at a trailer advertised at 6 grand thinking I might get it for 4500.

Dang Jungle, I have been watching for you to pop back on here and say they bought it. I was ready to scream out JUNGLE IS BUYING DRINK UP!!! WTH :) Hang in there, it will work out and dont let it stress you out.
Thanks. I really thought they were those ones. I still want them to get it. The wife is pregnant and the husband has to commute 200 miles a day to get back and forth to his job site. This little trailer would be perfect for them. They are trying to get to company to forward the money for the trailer. I hope they do get it.
I had five people scheduled to come out this evening, but they all bailed on me, so maybe God wants this couple to have it. I know it would make me smile to see them get it. I just can't wait until 28th. I don't know how much longer my friend in California will hold out. She has been fighting cancer for two years and is very weak.
I have to get this TT sold and buy my bigger one and be on the road before the end of the month. I don't see how I am going to do it. I need prayers.
Oh ok
You can be out of there. Post it for $4,700. Someone will buy it and they will want to offer you less so dont be shocked. Do it for your friend and put this behind you. If your friend dies without you seeing her what would you have settled for? I am saying a prayer for you and hope she holds out. You have too much on your mind and too much to do. I worked for different large companies and learned that proportionately we all need to just say to hell with it at times and throw fists full of dollars at a problem some times. Your lady friend has a very good friend. YOU. Go see her. AND go asap - toedtoesExplorer IIIYou seem to be jumping all over the place. First, you expect them to have cash in hand. I was going to get into this...but after typing for 15 minutes, I realized that no amount of trying to persuade you to listen to what everyone else said in the last 9 pages will work.
I understand your ethics and all...but you have to look at life. This is 2017 not 1967. Nowadays, people don't do deals with a handshake and a smile. Regardless of what the stock market and Washington says, people are still financially getting over the last big Recession...and some are still floundering in the waves. Expecting a buyer to fall out of the sky with a pocket full of hundreds is nice, but probably not going to happen in the time frame you are expecting for what you are selling.
Stating that you want Cash Only, and then getting upset when a potential buyer shows up, looks it over, and then says I have to get with the bank, or get a loan, etc tells me that you are not looking at this realistically.
I wish you luck...I really do. But unless you can either come down on the price or take the Cash Only thing off (if they want it bad enough, they can go get the cash) you are going to get a lot of bites, but no fish.
****, and I said I wasn't going to get into this...oh well...such is life.
Please don't get me wrong, I have heard everything said. I feel some people have not heard what I have said though. I am willing to sell it for way less then $6,000. That is just the starting point. I would take $4500 cash in a heartbeat. The problem is not the price. The problem is that nobody has any money at any price. That is the problem. I could lower it to $2000 and I would still have the same problem.
People are broke, I get that, but that is their fault, not mine. These people that work ing the oil field or on the wind power farms have money flowing out their nose. They make $25 to $40 an hour. They just blow their money. They could save two pay checks and have the cash to buy this trailer without breaking a sweat. My annual income is way less then 20K. Only a couple years in my life have I ever made more then 20k in a year. Yet, I am debt free, own three houses, and just paid $15K cash for my new 2011 Silverado 2500HD. How can I do this? Because I refuse to go into debt. I have no debt, so any extra over daily needs is mine to save or spend. I choose to save. And I save until I have the money to buy what I want. It is that simple.
My point is this. There is plenty of money out there and people who have it. But irresponsible people that do not know how to budget are in the majority these days. I understand that. And I am not saying I will not sell to them either. I have told everyone of them that they can have the trailer as soon as they put the money in my hand. All they have to do is go get their loan and come back with the money. Why is that too much for me to ask? Please tell me? And before you say they might be afraid of me selling it, well, all they have to do is offer a deposit, but none of them have.
I have listened to you, but have you listened to me?
