Thanks for helping to make my point. Did you go out there and start a thread crowing about your trouble-free 6.0? I'm going to go out on a very short, very stout limb here and say no, you didn't.
However, you can go into the archives on most any site that discusses Ford trucks and find plenty of threads started by people having problems with their 6.0's. If you go by the threads, you'd think that ALL 6.0's are junk.
(I'm sure someone will quote this and say, "They are." Don't disappoint me fellas.)
An engine who from drawing boards have head bolts that can't keep the heads on engine block is a junk.
Still a beast to drive as I was racing BMW with my dually.
Not saying that people who bought the 6l truck for grocery getter will have a problem with head bolts, but is not how some of those trucks work.
Why oil coolers clog on very short mileage? There is something in those engines that makes chemical reaction and no engineer come with solution to it.
Still looks like Ford finally scored good with 6.7l diesel even the engine is so packed under the hood that DIY service is in question. Liquid cooled intercooler? I would like to hear how they perform at 1/2 million miles mark?
