As others have said, it depends on the manufacturer and whether they have a disclaimer or not. It's possible it is 1300, so without any other info, I'd guess 1300 plus or minus 5%.

As most can attest to on this forum almost 100% where surprised how much their rig actually weighed once they got an accurate weight on it. They guesses what theirs weighed also till the real weight from a scale told them the true weight of it. Some people were surprised that they were over what they guessed by 1000# or more not a 100 or so pounds.

I'm assuming the manufacturers weight is correct. I've got one overhead cabinet that has dishes for 2 people, one frying pan, one pot , 4 cup coffee maker and some kitchen utensils. Add a small microwave, 2 sleeping bags, and clothes for 2 for a week, and I think my estimate for an extra 400#s should be pretty close. I am strictly barebones, the camper is mostly for shelter. I'm amazed at what many folks carry with them camping. It's no wonder folks find themselves 1000 to 1500#s over. If I left the packing to my wife, I'd be there too! LOL

I think some of these estimates are on the high side. A 1300# camper most likely doesn't have a bath, holding tanks, hot water heater etc. Depends on what he adds. Does it have an AC, oven, fridge, generator, how many batteries, how many propane tanks, any sort of insulated windows? I don't believe that any of those things are figured into the base weight. And then add in a full tank of water, cooking gear, etc., I would go with at least a full ton.

A little off topic but important thought.....
Comparing diesel mileage costs to this 1/2 ton gasser..... If he would just go out and get a good diesel truck it would not only pay for itself in fuel savings alone but, would even start a savings account in the long run.

Hey, a shell and a foam pad mattress doesn't weigh much. Add a 5 gallon jug for water and a porta-pot, and you can do it easily under 1300 lbs.
