When does a Pickup become a " Historical Vehicle"?

Saw this the other day. It is a F100 Traytop( image quality is not that good)
but it had " historical vehicle" plates, by expanding the photo you can see them. What is your definition of an historical Pickup and would a F100 qualify?

I have historical vehicle plates on my 1964 Thunderbird. You can get them when the vehicle is a certain age and falls under the usage rules required by the state (non DD, etc.).

Their great, no more yearly tabs or any other fee's what so ever.

One can even use old original plates:

Nice! I've got the same car, same color, everything. Except mine's a little smaller and sits on a shelf in my office.
  • In California...”These special plates (historical) are issued, upon request, for motor vehicles manufactured after 1922 which are at least 25 years old and of historic interest.”

Won’t be long until your new neighbors coming from the state a little south of you put a stop to that.

    IDK, Californy still has them.

  • The terms seem limiting but two of the rules are that it can be driven for "testing" (like after you work on it) or "For the enjoyment of others".

So while I couldn't drive it to work daily, I could drive it pretty much any other time for these purposes.
  • Not sure how we could answer you country's criteria for a historical plate.

Here (Michigan)it is 26 years and there are use restrictions to run a historical plate.
