Our heater goes off. Then when we turn it off and then back on it will work and then go off

- There should be a status panel in the trailer, showing battery voltage, fresh / grey / black tank levels. With shore power, the battery *should* show full. If it doesn't, then you will need to break out a volt meter, and measure the voltage on the batteries.
- It sounds like you have a problem with your converter/charger. What does your battery meter say it is running at? Low 1/3 full?
If it reads low, check out the GFI's in your bathrooms and other locations for one that is tripped.
You can use a portable battery charger plugged into another place if you need to, to keep it running.

- We had a random on/off problem similar to what you describe. Ours was caused by a loose wire in the thermostat. When the trailer moved slightly the power would go off.

Or the exhaust?- Are you plugged into shore power? If not then status of battery becomes an issue - heater fan takes a lot of electric juice and if your battery isn't up to snuff then the fan slows down and the sail switch which allows the furnace to run will close.
- Start trouble shooting from the beginning. Have you just filled propane tanks or turned off the valves and then turned them on, if so, turn them off, wait a few seconds, and turn on oh so slowly. You may need to do this 2 or 3 times to equalize pressure. The last time they are turned on, make sure the propane tank valve is wide open. Some think that just cracking the valve is enough, it may not be, your regulator is there to control flow. Then light your stove top, once all burners are working at once, then turn off and try the furnace. These are the first steps I would take and have taken in the past. It solved the problem more than not over the years.

- Really need the heater manufacturer and model to tell much. Also, a better description other than it goes on then off. Are you on shore power or battery?
