Weekend Warrior ... outside spray hose support broken

Had this problem on both of the two Weekend Warriors 5ht wheels I have owned purchased mid 2000's. The outside pressure sprayer is in a circular plastic tube about four inches wide with rigid (plastic) plumbing piece that extends out a couple feet towards the door opening to where the quick release coiled hose attaches. The plumbing is supported by a plastic piece in the rear that cracks after a few years leaving the rigid pipe with no backing to support it when you go to push in the quick release coiled hose into the self sealing fitting. Tough to get my big fat hands in the small hole far enough to hold the pipe with one hand while not interfering with the fitting, while pressing on the quick release hose with the other hand, and using my third hand LOL to push the collar back on the fitting to allow the hose to snap in. I make it work but it is very annoying. Anyone found an easy way to fix this? If not I think I will just convert it to more of a standard garden hose fitting with a valve so can remove the hose.
  • My Arctic Fox truck camper uses the same fitting as Weekend Warrior, but is flush mounted to a panel with hot and cold water taps (this doubles as the outdoor shower). Turning off the taps allows you to drain the short section of piping that is closest the external wall. When I had my WW, I also wrapped all the lines in foam sleeves (whether inside or outside the living space). This really helped keep water flowing when winter camping (the AF is much better winterized with insulated panels and plumbing and dual pane windows). I wrapped the WW PVC line to the quick connection in foam until it filled that hose storage gap. The hose was stored in another compartment and the foam offered the PVC line support and insulation at the same time.
  • Out off all my pics, I don't have one of that :( Trailer is in Vegas, and I'm in CA. But it is simple to do. Takes longer to unscrew the door flange, and the water line off the back. You want to use a wall mount hose bib for the appropriate angle of the hose threads in the door, and just remove the pvc nipple from the backing plate, shorten the large pipe to the length that works for you, and rivet it back on to the door flange. Once you get it out so you can see the workings of it, you'll be okay. Mine is a '08 CL 4005, but I think they used the same fittings/ compartment in all of them. I actually cut my large pipe length about a 1/2" too short, and had to turn the faucet handle just so, in order to close the door, but it works great.

That cap is just riveted on the end of the plastic pipe. You can re-rivet, but if you unscrew the outside panel door, you can remove the whole thing to work on it easier. I never used the sprayer, too weak, so shortened the tube and installed a regular hose bib. It was way handier to use to transfer left over water to folks staying when you're leaving and they can use the water. You can also adapt your coil hose to fit the hose bib, and still keep the sprayer.

I'd like to see pictures of that. I have the same setup as well.

  • I just ripped mine out and am fitting a garden hose style fitting instead. My issue is the cold weather always freezing the water in the little pipe and causing it to burst. We use the TH year round in and out of freezing temps and that pipe always seems to hold water.
