2000 Nissan Frontier std shift... Wadda ya think?

I just got a 2000 Nissan Frontier king cab 2wheel drive 5 speed. Question: Does anyone have any experience with this as to how it worked out as a toad. We're you to have to stop and do any kind of engine running or stuff like that? I have found a camper shell that fit nicely and had it painted " WOW "... Any advice from you professionals out there? What about the base plate and towing brake package, the weight? The only down-fall I can see, is the "&$@;#,,, GAS CAP IS ON THE WRONG SIDE." Any suggestions???? Thanks.
  • I don't know about the 2000 model year, but the owners manual for my 08 Frontier (King Cab, 4WD, 6sp manual) states that automatics and all 4WD models cannot be towed with the wheels on the ground. It does state that 2WD models with a manual xmission can be towed with a limit of 60 mph and 500 miles max. Nothing about starting the engine after the 500 miles so if I were to tow it, I would definitely start/drive it before the 500 mile mark.

If you do not have an owners manual I'd find one and check it out further. Good luck and BTW, it is a great little truck.
