A healthy tree on my property blew over and landed on the neighbors DP MH and the patio attached to there house. Lot of damage but Insurance would not pay as it was "act of God" . The Guy payed a Lawyer to take me to Court and lost as the Judge also said "act of God". He turned it into his own Insurance but he had
$1,000.00 upfront he had to pay. If the tree was dead I would have been responsible. The neighbor never spoke to me for several years before he moved
I would have offered to pay the deductible. It wasn't very much and it would have been the right to thing to do. I had 3 pine trees only my lot. One of them fell over into the road and missed everything. The others were on the side of my neighbors house. The trunk of one of them was crooked and then straightened out and grew tall. If either had fallen it would have taken out my neighbors garage and driveway. I paid to have the healthy trees cut down so that there would not be an "act of God" incident. - slemnahExplorerWow, we will be in pismo coast village at the end of the month. Hope nothing like this happens again.P
- TravelrExplorerWe are 3 spaces toward the ocean from this 5th wheel passenger side. It was raining very very hard most all night and suddenly we had a gustnado. (look it up) lasting about 5 minutes. It happened at 7:45 AM and there were 4 people sleeping inside. Both grand parents, 2 grand kids, 1 in the slide on the driver side which was crushed down to less than 3 feet high. All are fine, no injuries. Their son and daughter-in-law were in their 5th wheel next door and also had some roof damage and broken AC cover, but was able to eventually take it away. His truck, parked between the two, had a caved roof and a 3" branch punched thru the windshield. Its probably a total as well.
There were 7 trees knocked down plus another 6 or 8 requiring serious branch removal. All in the space of 200 yards. It's been 3 full days of Rick's Tree Service everywhere all day not to mention Pismo Coast Village staff. - tahiti16Explorer

It's amazing that the weight of that tree didn't cut the 5th wheel in half. Gives a little credit to the structural durability.
Hard to tell from the photo, but I wondered this too. I think the upper branches of the tree are on the other side of the trailer and may be helping to hold it up. Also sometimes when these trees fall like this because of the wet ground, they actually go over slowly. It's not like when you cut them off at the base with a chain saw and they free fall to the ground. - msmith1199Explorer II

I just couldn't imagine the horror of coming back from an outing and finding that. I sure hope that the insurance company will 'make them whole'.
