I just bought a 2002 Winnebago Sightseer 27c on a P30 Workhorse chassis.I just drove it from Elkhart IN yesterday. It kept drifting to the right. i discovered the passenger side airbag was 0 and the driver's side was 40. I'm guessing a handling improvement is on the horizon. I will probably have to change the airbags. Not a big deal.Searches indicate that the proper airbag pressure is determined by a 2 inch distance between the bumpstop and what it contacts. Looking under the front it looks like there are 2 bumpstops. Do I measure the upper or the lower bumpstop?Does anyone have any experience with setting the front bag air pressure on this thing? I need to get this set before I move to an alignment. Apparently the airbag pressure change changes the alignment.I also plan on upgrading the sway bar and bushings. Does anyone have any suggestions? The recommended minimum pressure is 55 lbs. I recommend starting at 70 lbs. and adjust up or down.To get the ride height corrected, raise the front of the coach so the suspension is fully extended and inflate both bags to 100-110 lbs. The reason for doing this is to fully expand the bags. Lower the coach and adjust the pressure to the desired level. The height is checked by measuring vertically from the top of the lower rubber bump stop.Your chassis would be a P32.No need to replace the springs unless the have collapsed.

Thanks. I ran the VIN number and it shows P-30. It looks like the chassis must be closely related. I'm going to cut a straw 2" and measure between the bumpstop and what it impacts on the lower bumpstop, then have it aligned. I'll assess the situation and determine whether an improvement in the sway bar is necessary.I'll also have them check the bell cranks for play.I was checking the front tires. There are bumps evenly spaced on the edge of the tread of both tires. Chinabombs. I'm lucky I made it home. Michelin XPS RIB?

If your chassis VIN is P31832, P31932, P32032 it is a P32 chassis. The P30 designation stems from the old GM chassis prior to Workhorse.

Winnebago specs 65 PSI in the tires. As long as I run speced tires (I am) and don't exceed plate weight, I should be fine. Too much tire pressure can stiffen sidewall if it is needed, but can also give the bone jarring ride I want to avoid. Hopefully my add-ons will give me the stability to run 65psi. The rears had 80 in in, and when I let 15 pounds out I was much less affected by trucks.

Truck stops weigh per axle, but how do you weigh a single corner?

Most likely your chassis is a P32 Widetrack Workhorse chassis.

When I had airbags, I ran 65 in the bags and 75 in the tires. It provided the best ride and handling.
When my bags finally failed, I replaced them with Henderson Supercoils and new Drag Link. Had the vehicle aligned and, WOW, what a difference in ride and handling.

100% better.

The ride is stiffer but tracks perfectly.

As others have mentioned, it is critical to weigh your corners to determine the correct settings.

A friend that has a similar coach uses 80 PSI in the front air bags and then, after having the front weighed, uses 85 in his tires. This seems to provide a nice ride in most conditions.

Here is where I am on my 2002 Winnebago Sightseer 27c (Workhorse (P30-32). 4 Bilstein shocks, rear trac bar, airbag filling valve extensions, Roadmaster steering stabilizer with spring, Henderson Bell Crank, front sway bar extensions. I'm also going to add teflon lined stainless steel brake lines, and tighten up the steering box. When all that is done, I'm going to add 6 new tires. The Firestones are reasonably priced, and can be installed locally. Once the tires are installed, I'm going to experiment with airbag air pressure. When that is selected, I'm going to take it back for an alignment.

This is a little bit more expensive project than I anticipated, but when it is all said and done, I hope to have a safe well handling motorhome for a fraction of the cost of a new one.

Airbags held 70 pounds overnight. I ordered a remote hose for checking and adding air. We'll see how they do in the upcoming weeks. I don't want to replace them if they hold air. The bag that was flat has the schrader valve off center. I think I need to fully inflate to straighten it out and then deflate.

The expensive bell crank is ordered. So is a set Bilstein shocks for the front. Instead of a new sway bar I'm going to start with new Poly bushings. I'll probably go on and get a rear Roadmaster tracbar.

Looks like 6 tires are needed too. If I'm replacing the rear tires should I also replace the rear shocks? I don't want to ruin the new tires.

I have had Michelin on several MHs and have absolutely no problems with any of them. If you join FMCA you can get a good price with the Michelin Advantage program. I just got 6 this last summer for my GMC and they are as good as on my previous MHs.

P57GX I put in 75 PSI in the bags. It is about 1/4 inch off the 2", but we'll see. The flat airbag is holding for now. I'll measure it tomorrow. I might be able to live with a slow leak for a while until I can get a handle on what I need to do.

What do you like instead of Michelins? The PO said the shocks were a year old, and the front tires were 2 years old. Must have noticed the cupping!
