- jerseyjimExplorerThe best braking system consists of your eyes in coordination with the foot that presses the brake pedal. Plus the sense to leave lots of room between you and the guy in front of you.

LOL ... in your case passive braking is what happens if you don't slow down when she tells you to.
When I drive, my wife is always stomping the floor and yelling slow down...is that considered passive braking???.. I keep telling her there's no brake pedal on her side....:B:B:B.....Dennis
Oh I bet nothing passive about that at all! Make sure you never take her to one of the ball games where they give out the little bats! :B :B - tahiti16Explorer

You have that problem too Dennis!! There has been a dent in the right floorboard of every vehicle we have owned! :B :B - holstein13ExplorerOur Newmar King Aire had the Bendix system available as an option. I'm told about half the customers take that option. It's a love it or hate it system. I'm on the "hate it" side of the debate.
Unfortunately, the Bendix will not come to a complete stop and only applies about 1/3 of the available braking power. Additionally, it only works when the cruise control is on. Otherwise, it's just an annoying beep that can not be turned off ever and goes off a lot in heavy traffic.
If they included the ability to turn on / off the system at will, I would have added it to my coach but during my test drive in heavy traffic, it was apparent that the constant beeping would shortly drive me insane. - Corkey05Explorer

- Mr_Mark1Explorerduplicate.
- Mr_Mark1ExplorerI can only imagine how complicated an after market system would be to install.
We have a 'crash avoidance system' built into our coach. The sensors are in the front bumper and detect a car or object if it is a certain distance from the sensors.
If I don't slow down, there is a ring of red lights that will light up around the speedometer then a loud alarm. If I don't take action, the transmission downshift quickly to slow me down. It was a little surprising when it first happened as a car cut in front of me and went off on an exit.
This system will not stop you like in the Mercedes commercial, but will aggressively slow you down.
MM. - Matt_ColieExplorer III bet it will be a long time before such is available as an aftermarket product. The install problems are just the start of a legal can of worms that nobody will want to pry open.
