Title for attention. ;)About a month ago I picked up a 1999 bounder. I believeis either a 34 or 36. Been fixing a few things here and thereso i haven't driven it very much.I've had 22',and 30' but never one this long. Went to the gas station and while i appeared to be in i get loud bang.Her tail end was scraping the street, it's so longall wheels were already in the gas station and big overhangwould block traffic. I've seen rv's with metal wheels on the back like behind the tow barI'm guessing for this reason. Also learned the while i pull away from a sidewalk the tail will swing out and be careful parking next to telephone pole. Need a tailight because of this. Any ways anyone install the wheels in their rv?

Thats one big reason I won't do a gasser any more. I used to cringe at the thought of finding a service station to pull into to get fuel when on a trip. With the diesel rig I just pull into a truck stop.

They're called RV Skid Wheels. You can find them on Amazon, etc.They do make some that mount in your tow receiver. I've never used them, I just look for potential problems before entering parking lots, dips in the road, etc..Tail Swing can be tricky. But, you learn quick (as you now know). :)

Take some time to learn your RV's limits, possible in a large empty parking lot. Watch closely where the front and rear go when you try to drive and turn along the painted lines. That will make it easier to select fuel stops that are more suited to both the size and your driving ability. And always plan your exit before you enter a gas station, and be aware that the rear is less likely to drag on a sloped apron if you hit it diagonally instead of straight on.

Interested in those skid wheels. I was so mad when I saw the right
rear tail broken. I thought some punk kid had hit it. Then I realize
it was me when rub the telephone pole swing away from the curb. Laughed
and then grrrrrr.. Ill get the hang of it. Thinking about adding a camera
to show me the side rear view.

Not if you know your vehicles limits as you should. That applies to any vehicle...

You should be able to see the rear corners with your mirrors.

I have a wheel on my rear hitch. They are not expensive and they do stop your tail from dragging.

And truck stops also serve gas as well, with a gas motorhome you can get fuel anywhere as long as it fits..
