Thanks for all the responses. Some new ideas to try. I have the big rat trap and they trip it but yet to get one. My wife won't let me kill anything so I try to keep her from seeing it. Think I'll try lights next.

I FINALLY found the squirrel that has been bugging me for weeks running around on my roof. OK, I have hearing issues and wear hearing aids, but it WAS a squirrel. That is my story.......

Yeah, cats will keep them away.
There are a lot of rodentia around my neighborhood, this year. I think I have one in the yard shed, again. What I found works is to remove one or other, shelter or food source. Timed correctly, removing a Winter stash of food or removing nests and entrances pushes them along to different locations. Sometimes that's difficult like the guy who has his fleet storage next to the Oak trees producing acorns. In those cases, trapping or hunting bring the quickest resolution to the problem.

Wow, Glad I don't live there. I use a hungry cat in my storage shed for most of my rodent problems. It would catch and eat a chipmunk. Not so sure about a squirrel though. Still, the squirrel might stay away if the cat had the area under control.

Only thing I have not tried was leaving the light on in the shed and puting a light under the hood of the truck. Has anyone made this work?

I'm in Tucson and have fought the packrat battle for many years. Like you, I tried everything I could think of, including all those you mentioned in your post. I've had damage on several vehicles and had to rewire my old 67 F-100 twice. The only thing that has worked for us is light. We surround the rig and cars with LED rope lights which illuminate every night on a timer. I used to raise the hoods on the cars and hang a trouble light every night. Matter of fact, when we first moved into this neighborhood I thought everyone must be always working on their cars as so many hoods were up! As a backup, I am also using the little sonic devices that are supposed to repel rodents. I have a couple on the exterior and a couple inside.

Last month I did not have my lights going for a couple of nights. During that time, the little bas***s climbed up on my valve cover (it's a DP) and left their droppings, ran the length of the 40' rig through the cable tunnel and started to set up shop on top of my fuel tank way up front. Man, I went into a full frontal attack. Light it up like Times Square and sound the sonics. They haven't been back.

This seems to be a extra bad year for the Squirrels. We live in the country and I shoot 4 to 8 Squirrels a day, all within 50 to 60 foot of the house & motorhome. I use to love Squirrel stew. But like to much of anything I've lost my taste for them. I have a hard time wasting them, so I clean them for one of the neighbors to eat. It seems like as fall grows closer we have more and more Squirrels.
