(Even More) Gizmo Tomfoolery

This stuff actually works excellently. It should be in every tool box. Repairs bad connections in control boards, thermostats. et al.

You can find it on eBay.
  • I've had to toss electronics that broke or cracked a circuit board trace. Switches where a PCB=like circuit path was blow, battery operated stuff where the battery contact went bad. This stuff is cheaper and easier than spending 12 dollars in gasoline for the privilege of going to buy a replacement.
  • No...Not when wet
And putting both leads on one connection will not give me the resistance between the connection and the circuit
But I was able to measure resistance between the connection and the other end of the circuit trace.

So two connections with increased resistance on an rf input at micro volt level, did degrade the signal slightly
I don't think there would be any problems where there is a powered circuit
  • i have something looks like that
the other side of the label says Anders Products

i had a specific use.. reconnecting very small co-ax on an RF amplifer circuit board in an antenna head

it looks to be carbon based and seemed to have a high resistance
the repaired connection suffered a signal drop from the OEM connection

but it was better than NO signal, i had with the broken connection

I longer have that antenna, but i still have the wire Glue i used to repair it
  • Kinda be simpler in your example to squeeze a butt connector. But yes, it would work. It does have an amperage limitation. Common sense is required. This stuff is designed for otherwise hard to fix connections.
  • How does that work? Twist two wires together, paint them with the wire glue, let dry, then add insulation?
