Yes I know they had looked at it and gave it a pass, why Fiat owns us and builds diesels. Why would you pay someone to build something you already build yourself.
I have been saying this for a while now, Chrysler feels, right or wrong that buyers of 1/2 ton trucks are for the most part not going to tow big trailers with them. The want a truck that gets good fuel economy, can pick up things from Lowe's or Home Depot a few times a year and looks good.
Ram again right or wrong delegates heavy RV towing to the HD line up, 2500 and up. With the new air suspension system we have addressed the ride issues with the 2500 and 3500 trucks. So they decided to put the little 3.0 VM as some have called it, into the 1500 and are hoping that a pickup making 30+ MPG will fly off the lots. I bet they are right!

And Nissan has to find some Titan buyers first! :W :W :W
I agree with you. I think that a full size pickup that gets 30+ miles per American gallon would do well in the market.
If the small diesel is reliable, has good HP and torque, reasonable cost replacement parts/ servicing costs and is durable...it would be what a lot of people would like.
For quite awhile now I've wondered why we in the US and Canada don't have the percentage of small diesels suitable for cars and light trucks, as they have in Europe.
Perhaps things are changing with the advent of the Chevy Cruze turbo diesel car and the Dodge 1500 pickup. Hoping to see more domestic cars with turbo diesel availability.
