1983 GMC 23' Shasta Mini Motorhome
I have so many questions about this motorhome and life on the road. This is the beginning. Back in the early 90s, I was living on/off in a VW Transporter II Westfalia poptop. Here I am again, only this time, incredibly more prepared for knowledge and wisdom as a human. This vehicle was in my immediate budget of $2500. I will have access to mechanics tools and a place to work on it while preparing it for safe, securely maintained life on the road. *grateful I am searching for more information and knowledge shares from other professional enthusiasts to put this motorhome on the right track. The current owner over the last 2 years were a mechanic and his wife + 2 children. He has the engine purring, insulated the ceiling inside except the bathroom, new tires and spare, freshly sealed the outside. The refrigerator is toast, the generator is toast. Until I have the vehicle in my possession, I only have this information and took a test drive yesterday. My idea is to update this efficiently and as eco-friendly as possible. It is 43 years old and I want to treat it kindly, take care of it. Any tips will help me do this from experienced peoples such as yourselves. Thank you. xo130Views0likes5CommentsWant to tow
I have a 2024 Gulf Stream class C motorhome on a Ford E450 cutaway chassis and I want to tow our Jeep with us on long trips. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find any help with determining which is the right/best receiver hitch to use or where to have it installed. Getting a tow bear for the Jeep itself isn't the issue - I need help with making the necessary modifications to my motorhome. Can anyone shed some light on this?196Views0likes11Comments1988 ford cobra
I just got a 1988 ford cobra motorhome. I drive home about 120 miles and I had to get gas 3 times. $60 first $88 then $70. I the fuel pump is new according to seller but the gas seems to have gone too quickly. Any suggestions as to what the cause might be or is this normal?192Views0likes3CommentsRefrigerator
I have Dometic z fridge in my 2023 Thor. I talked to Good Sam Tech support. He had me remove the outside cover and feel the combustion chamber for heat. It was hot to the touch. He also had me feel the piping going from the chamber and they we outside temperature. He said the fridge lines are plugged and it can only be replaced because it’s a sealed unit. I passed this on to Camping World but they want to rig it to operate instead of replacing it. I have factory and extended coverage. It seems like every time they touch my camper something breaks in it.272Views0likes13CommentsDrive Train Repair Portland Metro area
I'm looking for some where that can do some work on my 2007 Four Winds Majestic i just bought. Driving it i feel like I'm floating all over and i would like to update the suspension, new Sway bar ETC. I am finding NO ONE in the area that does this work. Camping world has still yet to return my call. RV county says they have a 10 year limit(this is crazy btw). can anyone point me in a good direction? maybe a shop you have used? Even other types of places i should call like heavy equipment mechanic shops? Thank, Mike104Views0likes1CommentMushy Floor
So I have a 2016 Jayco and under the large slide out, the flooring has become soft under the linoleum flooring at one end of the slide. Does anyone have any background in how to repair this? Who to take it to that is not going to kill my bank? I just don’t want it to get any worse than it is.150Views1like3Comments
